Re: 2016 Decks of the Year Contest - THE WINNERS!
Wow. Great results.
There were so many great decks to choose from this year that I actually found it really hard to choose between some decks for certain categories.
Even though I knew which decks I'd voted for when I was scrolling through the list of winners I thought to myself: I don't think I'll have done too well this year. But then to see my name in SECOND place I was shocked & stoked at the same time. I think this will be the pinnacle of my UC voting - I doubt I'll ever reach these heights again.
Congrats to all the winners & many thanks to Mike & Joe for running a super smooth contest, to all the people who donated prizes & of course to the designers who we couldn't have this contest without.

Re: 2016 Decks of the Year Contest - THE WINNERS!
Because the first place was tied, there is no second place, as the first two decks are the number 1 and 2. If it would have been a three way tie for the first place, then there wouldn't have been anyone on the third place either.Stockholm17 wrote: 2nd position?

Don't worry, I'm human! After SINS I will need months before launch another big project
Maybe summer, but more probably autumn.
And I won't launch anything else before Pantheon will be delivered.

Re: 2016 Decks of the Year Contest - THE WINNERS!
I was so surprised with the results that I didn’t know what to say. Of course I wanted a good result, but the first place is something incredible. I spent a great deal of time choosing my votes because this last year , there were released so many great decks and we had a lot of options to choose from.
I am so grateful that I found this amazing and dedicated community about 2 years ago. It has helped me a lot with my passion for playing cards and made a big difference. It was like another world, because I didn’t know at that time that there are so many different decks.
I want to say a big THANK YOU to the organizers, very good job, and to those who donated for the prizes. Also for the designers and producers, keep up the good work!
I’ll try to pick my prize as fast as possible.

I'm so happy to see that I reached the top 10, couldn't be more happier, it was so difficult to choose between so many options!
Congratulation for the deck designers, especially to my italian friends Lorenzo and Giovanni! Congratulation for the other contestants!
A very big THANK YOU to whoever donated, and of course to Mike and Joe to have this made possible. It is a long job to get the votes all together and prepare the results, so, really thank you!
This year will be awesome too!

Congrats on 1st place HFMJ, Good choice. I was also considering The Thirdway decks.HFMJ wrote:I'm sorry for taking so long, but it was a really hard choice. I will take the half brick from Thirdway Industries. Thank you very much!
The problem with scoring highly is that there are too many great prizes to choose from.
I would like to take the mixed brick from Cherrynukacola as my prize please. Many Thanks.

Re: 2016 Decks of the Year Contest - THE WINNERS!
Hey everyone,
Sincerest thanks to everyone for organising the competition and the generous donations made by the respective members.
For my third place prize, I would be honoured to select Shermjacks Tier 1 prize, the full set of Carat cases. I own a precious few of these already and they really put a shine on the presentation of my prized decks. I'll be in touch with shermjack about arranging delivery including contribution toward postage costs.
I think it's flyers3003 to select next?
Thanks again,
Greg

Congrats to all the winners and thanks once again to everyone at UC for a great contest!
For my 4th place prize, I would love to have shermjack's Tier 2 prize, the Carat X6 w/decks from Asia.
I believe that makes sms69x next to pick.

Re: 2016 Decks of the Year Contest - THE WINNERS!
Great contest once again. The winners are well deserved.
This process is a great chance to review all the decks from the year. There were actually very few duds produced and many good ones. But about a dozen decks stood out. What I notice across them is attention to detail in all areas of the art and the execution. Coincidentally (maybe?) these creators are very proud of their process and try to show some of it to us in their projects.
I'm happy to pick Räpylätassu's brick 1. Passing to ivan.

Once again, what an amazing contest! Thanks Joe and Mike! Picks for 2016 was especially difficult with the number of exceptional and very well produced decks currently in the market. Special thanks to all the hard work and innovations designers have incorporated into their product. Also, not forgetting the generous sponsors.
I will go with the brick by PrincessTrouble.
Passing in on to Räpylätassu.

I dream of a world where wars are fought only by having dance offs. I also dream that a Finnish playing card designer would exist. The former seems more likely to happend.

I guess I'm next!
I'd love to take Räpylätassu's 2nd brick, if I may. Looks like there's quite a few interesting decks included! Thanks to everyone who donated!

Re: 2016 Decks of the Year Contest - THE WINNERS!
First of all, I'd like to thank UC for running the contest and all the people that donated prizes. Thank you!JuFiN wrote:That means TGunitedcardists is up!
First time I've entered the contest. I finished u̶n̶l̶u̶c̶k̶y̶ lucky number 13!
I will choose the generous, "Lorenzo Gaggiotti Tier 1: Half brick of Le Chat Rouge + 6 copper coins with epoxy coating prize."
2017's going to be a Stockholm 17 year, with a Gemini Split Brick with Noctis coming and RAVN purple on the radar!
Lorenzo/Stockholm 17: Thank you in advance. You rock.
Next up is #14, vasta41.
