New deck called "Egypt" by SVI GROUP
Hello,
We are working on the new deck called "Egypt".
Now I have examples of different styles of drawing cards.
I am very interested to hear your opinion about the drawing styles.
Which style is more interesting and preferable in a playing cards?
What you think of it so far?
Thank you for your response.

Re: New deck called "Egypt"
Yep - the colour version is definitely the best at the moment. I like the designs so far!
Is Anubis having the Eye of Horus part of the mythology or purely aesthetic?

These drawings are made looking at the murals and statues.

I apologize, later.intlgrrl wrote:Is it possible to see the An1 pic in color?
This is only a sketch and a selection of drawing styles.

I think the An1.png has the most potential, but I don't like the pips. They are hard to read. I would like to see a version with traditional suits that are easy to read.
A color version of An1.png would probably be the best.

I understand certain artistic licence - I'd just never seen the eye of Horus (or Ra) actually on Anubis before. The eyes severally represent the sun and moon and the powers of Ra and Horus, and are often depicted as distinct being in their own right (e.g. Hathor and Wadjet).Mischievous wrote:It is part of the mythologymontecarlojoe wrote:Yep - the colour version is definitely the best at the moment. Looks good though - and it would be hard to leave such an iconic symbol out of such a deck!
I'd almos go the other way and suggest using cartouche for pips and hieroglyphs for indexesTGunitedcardists wrote:I think the An1.png has the most potential, but I don't like the pips. They are hard to read. I would like to see a version with traditional suits that are easy to read.

The Egyptian hieroglyph for numbers, look primitive. The hieroglyph for indexes understand unity.

Definitely An2 color is the best one here. This style and artwork is also the best of all the decks proposed. Unique pips are always nice, but the diamonds might be too different and could cause play ability issues with people not being able to immediately recognize it as a diamond. Consider making the pips a little more traditional, but still keep some unique and custom elements so they fit the theme.
