Yeah getting 3 of the same deck that no one wants for $6.Russell wrote:cosmicsecret wrote:...not one rare deck....well done D&D!
This is basically gambling. Anyone who plays the lottery expecting to win is going to be disappointed.
It´s the same as HOPC 12/12/12 bricks, they are getting rid of overstockings. The difference is HOPC clearly stated what you can expect and they named numbers plus you didnt get 3x the same deck.
Can´t wait to see what $&$ err D&D are coming up with the next time....
Re: Mystery Deck by Dan & Dave (Now Available)
I do agree getting three of the same deck is a bit of a bummer.

Re: Mystery Deck by Dan & Dave (Now Available)
I agree that it's a bummer. However, I think it makes more sense with the way the twins did this sale. HOPC prepacked bricks with no duplicates. I actually won one in a contest and got several decks I didn't previously own. The twins, from what I've can tell, wrapped the chosen decks individually, then randomly distributed them in the orders. I doubt they had a plaid pile or a fultons pile, etc. While it's still a bummer, it's part of how they sold these decks. I'm still waiting for my six decks to ship, but I'll post what I get when they arrive.

Re: Mystery Deck by Dan & Dave (Now Available)
Ordered 2 decks and got 2 Clip Joints. I like CJs so it was sweet and sour
Re: Mystery Deck by Dan & Dave (Now Available)
I do and don't like that I got 3 plaids. I try to buy 2 of every deck I want, 1 to open and inspect, and the other to leave sealed for my collection. If I get a deck that I really like or that I feel would be neat to use to play games then I'll pick up a third deck. I only have a few decks that I use regularly for card games and I wanted a plaid deck for that purpose.

Re: Mystery Deck by Dan & Dave (Now Available)
i actually ended up getting three but the other one was just another plaid :/ although i did get what i wanted, an ivory fultons casino(i really wanted a red one tho), im kinda dissapointed...but it was only 6 bucks so i cant complain too much
but what i AM dissapointed in is that it took untill just NOW to get it. granted they said theyll be here the 2nd, but still.
btw, does anyone REALLY like the plaids? worst design ever imo
Re: Mystery Deck by Dan & Dave (Now Available)
I can't believe you said that. Plaids are a classic retro design.darkinertia wrote:btw, does anyone REALLY like the plaids? worst design ever imo
I love them, and you sir... are just wrong... imo

Re: Mystery Deck by Dan & Dave (Now Available)
i dont care what people say Vintage Plaid is amazing. And you cant fully appreciate its uniqueness unless you have them in your hands. Plus it is one of the best deck that ive handled, ever. but yeah three of the same color is a little bummer.
Re: Mystery Deck by Dan & Dave (Now Available)
you're the lucky one, try still processing.darkinertia wrote: but what i AM dissapointed in is that it took untill just NOW to get it. granted they said theyll be here the 2nd, but still.

Re: Mystery Deck by Dan & Dave (Now Available)
i dont know, the plaids just feel more uninspired than retro and they handle the same as any other dan and dave deck out there to me. now when it comes to good retro design im loving the look and feel of the fultons casino...i like how they put all these different marks onto every card and how they resemble wynns/jnugs (though they feel nothing like them)
but it might just be that i dont like the whole 'cards that came out of my grandmas cribbage set' look...but at least they feel good and i knock that deck off my 'to get' list lol

Re: Mystery Deck by Dan & Dave (Now Available)
I got my order from them yesterday. I only got one mystery deck and it was an Aladdin 1001. Luckily I didn't have one of those, but on the other hand I didn't have one because they are pretty basic. Oh well.

Bought a dozen to better my chances.
That ... did not work. Such is gambling.
Funny thing though... the decks were packaged (beautifully) with slight differences.
See picture for color and "string or no string" variations.
I laid them out in the same order after opening so you can see what came from what package.

I faired a bit better than most it seems. Three Plaid, 1 Ohio Arrco, 1 Rouge Reprint and 1 Orange Fulton's Casino. Overall I'm happy with what I got. I'll use the plaids for card games

@ sharpie and playingcardz i think you guys actually got a good deal! im not sure exactly what you were expecting for 6 bucks, did you really think you were going to get jnugs? i think we all know by now that will never happen, no matter what company does it, which there HAS to be laws against that sort of rigging....
i knew going into it that of course they were trying to get rid of old stock they dont need anymore or couldnt sell, i knew that it would be mostly ace fultons and plaids, i was just hoping for ace fultons, not too big on the plaids but it was worth the gamble...but even if they were to throw in a couple of rare decks or even a jnug, i feel like it would put them into the red with this promo.
i dont like the disingenuous marketing, they really need to stop that shit. its getting annoying.

I WAS expecting more variety.
I'm not upset about what I got. But I already have too many plaids.

You mean this marketing?
Did anyone, anywhere get any of the decks in that picture? Does anyone know of, or has heard of, anyone, anywhere getting any decks in that picture?
So, to D&D "joy" = "disappointment". I think I understand now - every day is opposite day!TweedleDee and TweedleDum Industries wrote:
