I've never had trouble finding my rare decks on my own, and nearly every single one of the hardest to get decks I have (gold new era, unbranded reserve not, blue logan punk deck, Bund18s, Microsoft etc...) didn't come from UC or PCF, I had to search, and bid, and call and google, reach out to other countries, instagram.. Do the leg work. there isn't a deck I have sought that I haven't been able to get the old fashioned way, and Nothing CBJ has posted has been out of reach to me.

I was just about to post about these, I got mine today. I missed out on the black and green ones though, but the guy I purchased from, is keeping an eye out for me.

And to Victor, it's really not hard to find, if you shake your head from side to side, does it rattle?

Hey, now.

Everybody, please let's ease up on the insults. Disagreement is fine, but let's back off the insults.

Thanks.

Edit: obviously, this was not aimed at the post *immediately* above this one, but it's kinda funny when posts are logged in the wrong order.

What's this "we" crap, do you have a mouse in your pocket?? I think you mean Vic goes through this every single time.
"We" as in the community, on this topic.

Unrelated, but I finally found the Ginza Itoya deck that was only release in stores in Japan! I found it outside of the card community from random googling and made a deal with some blogger that posted about the store where I spotted the deck in the corner of one of his pictures. Any deck is findable!

Four days ago, I found Bicycle Dreamcatcher from hobbyist at gas station 5 miles from me,
Didnt have to import it from Asia.
Sometimes just luck, not a great deck, but I like simple.

In all seriousness, I do understand Mr. Victor's point, but I dont think he should be all that upset about it. I feel bad that many seem to be against him., but his post can be seen as uncalled for as well.

But hey Im a newb here and to collecting. so I dont know many here and all the history.

Well, I called 3 local stores- 2 had no idea what I was talking about but one lady said she'd ask around and get back to me. Fingers crossed! There's one more store I could call that's semi-close to my house in wonderful tax-free NH but I'll wait and see what the other store says.

I find CBJ's posts here something to aim for. Sure, there's a little disappointment that there's another rare deck out there that I don't have.

I don't have the time, effort, contacts (and most probably money) that CBJ spends on getting these whales. I wish for many more hours in the day for several reasons, and this is just one. In the mean time, I'll be happy with three quarters of CBJ's collection (I'm hoping!), and be on the lookout for many decks to fill the gaps.

I don't understand how any of us could be expected to get a 'only one deck available' tip and give it to someone else. I doubt I'll ever get such a thing, but if I do, I will apologise in advance - it'll be going into my collection.

You never know what will be the method of finding something rare that you're after...

This one time, I found a limited, sold-out-at-source card accessory (it was a limited edition deck box), mentioned in a YouTube video. Anyhow, I got in touch with the guy who put up the video and asked him about it. Turned out he was willing to part with it at the original sale price -- pretty cool!

That guy?

Victor.

Just saying.

That was cold...

About my collecting practices... (taken from another thread)

The conversation that is happening in this thread is why I post DRAMATICALLY less than I used to.
I'm going to put it as point blank as possible... the feeling of entitlement some of you have sometimes makes me sick.
Do you guys think it's just pure luck that I keep finding these rare decks? Do you think they just fall on my lap?
The answer is a huge "NO"

Over the last 6-7 years I've done the leg work to get these sources. I've sat on the computer for many MANY hours researching to find all these different decks I come across. I've made overseas calls, built relationships, kept in contact with people I've reached out to, and drop them a line from time to time to see what's new. I have a gauntlet of different searches I do everyday. I've put in huge amounts of time and effort to build my Bicycle collection with some of the rarest and hardest ones to find. The Suncity, Gold New Era, and others took me YEARS to track down. So, why should I just divulge the names of these people I've made relationships with?? If I did that, they would be inundated with messages from people looking for decks (even though most of them only have 1 to spare).
So, go out... put the time in, do the research... don't sit back and wait for someone else to do it for you.
I can completely relate to what you said above.

There is a very old book first published in 1936 titled.......umm...... "How to Win Friends and Influence People", and it is still relevant today ;)

How dare you find this incredibly rare desirable deck and share a link for others to purchase!? Typical CBJ just sharing opportunities with the rest of us. Makes me sick!

I mean, I'm just occasionally here, but this is hilarious. What makes this even better is, that for me, this is one hell of an ugly deck. And just because it's rare or hard to come by, people want it so bad. GTFO, this is some serious face palm situation. I have my fits, too. I buy left and right, but it's for the cards I enjoy looking at or like to handle...
But then again, everyone likes different things :)
