Is it possible for a mod to split this into two threads please, one for Mandala and one for Grielle?

Re: Next LUXX Decks: Mandala and Grielle
So we've squashed, squeezes, rotated (diagonally) and more. Nothing looks as good as the four across version of the back with the border element.
At this stage, the thinking is that the four across is the most aesthetically pleasing. Other sizes look stretched or odd - the two striped borders works OK, but is a second in my opinion at the moment.

I don't have too much of an opinion as I would buy whichever on "wins" but I like bottom right a hair more than the rest.

After all that, I like either the original design 4 across design. The bottom right above is nice but doesn't match the tuck which is lovely.

Re: Next LUXX Decks: Mandala and Grielle
Thanks guys, it's definitely the original that's winning for me. We're going to try one or two more tweaks and then make a decision, appreciate the feedback.
The next release will be Mandala, which is close to finished. Grielle will be the next after that (hoping for late 2016).

An alternate to the stripes - makes for some tricky registration though...

Looking back at the everything, I have to agree with Paul that the original looks best. Classy and simple, which is what the LUXX brand was supposed to be all along.

Thanks for your feedback Tom.
We're deciding between the original four across and an ever-so-slightly squeezed five across.

Re: Next LUXX Decks: Mandala and Grielle
I quite like Montecarlojoe's design! But out of those two, the original is better, the bronze color works better on the design than light blue or light red.
My vote would go the Montecarlojoe's design on the previous page, but the original is not bad either in any means.

Re: Next LUXX Decks: Mandala and Grielle
I favor the montecarlojoe version (or something similar). But, failing that, my next favorite choice is the five-across variation of the original. Failing that, I'll still back the original four-across version.
Edit: the more I look at it, the better the 5-across version looks.

Re: Next LUXX Decks: Mandala and Grielle
Thanks Joe for the suggestion, appreciate the feedback. we're going to go with either 5 across or the 4 across back. I think the 4 across back shows the pattern the best due to the size, but we'll reflect on it and make a decision next week. Thanks folks.

Re: Next LUXX Decks: Mandala and Grielle
After a little back and forth, I think we're going to stick with the original four-across.
Whilst it doesn't necessarily have as much balance - the size of the squares and the elements overall best fits the design. It's always good to come here and get some constructive opinions, so thank you very much.

Re: Next LUXX Decks: Mandala and Grielle
So, first things first. Grielle has evolved slightly.
We're now looking at a two-deck foil back set. 1000 numbered decks of each - silver (with navy) and copper (with black).
The proofs are in and these decks look phenomenal. I did have slight doubts/concerns about the level of foil detail on the backs, but they look great. The photos don't really do them justice in my opinion.
I was initially reluctant to try foil backs as I was worried they may not be as practical and playable as typical classic finish, but after handling a few EPCC/LPCC foil backs I was convinced (it was Lawrence's initial idea).
Anyway - this one is not going to be a pre-order. We currently have plenty of space so we don't need them in & out in quick succession. So we'll be releasing them and despatching as usual (perhaps a day or two at most) with a special early pricing structure, including matching numbered dealer coins for the 'first' 100.
More news and as when I get it.

Re: Next LUXX Decks: Mandala and Grielle
Thanks for sharing these pics Paul.
These look awesome, and with that foiled backs you took the LUXX brand to a new level.
One little thing i noticed, you call the deck "Grielle" while the Joker and Ace of Spades on the pics says "Greille"

You guys just gave me a panic attack.. Googling to make sure the spelling on the cards is ok! Greille is correct - phew. Thread needs a tweak! Really happy with the look of the foil backs. Very nice Legends.

Ah, I figured it was a toss up as to whether or not the OP was simply misspelled.RickDavidson wrote:You guys just gave me a panic attack.. Googling to make sure the spelling on the cards is ok! I split into two topics taking only two references specific to Alvin's LUXX Mandala coming in 2017 (and fixed the spelling of the OP so it won't cascade into replies).
If you saw a PM for a minute we were cross posting, it's been deleted at this point.

Goes without saying these are sweet. Any timeframe on when they'll be available or did I miss that? Also, did I read that right, numbered dealer coins for a matching set? That's awesome!

No timeframe yet, but they're going to print pretty soon. We're not taking pre-orders this time so I'd estimate maybe 6 weeks from now.
Yes, you read that right - matching numbered coin/deck sets again. The Elliptica matching set is easily the most popular of any LUXX release we've had.
