Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
First we saw Chicken Nuggets, now we have Glamor Nuggets! It is pretty neat how these old designs are being reproduced and sort of made for everyday carry. The new Glamor Nuggets have VERY little info about them. Here is what I can tell you: 1. They are printed by Expert Playing Card Co. , 2. Very Limited Quantities (Once they're gone, they're gone) , 3. There is going to be 5 or more colors.
I am lucky to already have the blues and will get all the other colors in a couple week.
Blue Nuggets are available right now for order at https://gotmagicshop.com/products/glamo ... cards-blue" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here is some more info and pictures of the cards:
The Golden Nugget Las Vegas is a luxury hotel and casino located in Las Vegas. Golden Nugget's are some of the most highly collectible, and popular, decks of vintage playing cards. They were printed in the 1970s.
GLAMOR NUGGET Playing Cards have a retro feel to them and are a tribute to the original Golden Nugget Playing Cards. GLAMOR NUGGET Playing Cards are made using top quality card stock which feels most like what many card handlers are now used to. GLAMOR NUGGET Playing Cards will not be reprinted. Let's continue the legend of the Golden Nugget.

Standard Courts? Or are they modified, as with the Chicken Nuggets?

Hey Rousselle! The court cards I believe are standard. I actually prefer standards over the Chicken Nuggets since I don't want kings eating hamburgers while Im doing a trick. Lol.rousselle wrote:Standard Courts? Or are they modified, as with the Chicken Nuggets?
I will keep you updated and post some more pictures when I get a chance to open a deck.

Re: Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
Well this sentence grabbed my attention! So $15 per deck is an everyday deck nowadays !...gotmagic wrote:First we saw Chicken Nuggets, now we have Glamor Nuggets! It is pretty neat how these old designs are being reproduced and sort of made for everyday carry.
This is just an easy way to make money, no really work was put in the deck, besides changing Golden for Glamor... I'm not a designer, but quite sure this is very easy, so if for changing one word you place the price at $15, if were to do a custom deck then I don't want even think of the price!
This is a easy pass as was the chiken nuggets, there's nothing on these decks that will justify the price.

Re: Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
I agree almost 100%. I own the Chicken Nuggs and think they're cute. While there wasn't much difference from them and Jerry's at least it was a funny name and had funny courts. I'm not a fan of these "Glamor" ones at all. Especially for $15 a pop. But the part in that quote you pointed out that stands out to me is this:sms69x wrote:Well this sentence grabbed my attention! I wouldn't call it neat, I'd call it a lazy, blatant way to make money. But hey, to each their own! But I certainly won't be purchasing them.gotmagic wrote:It is pretty neat how these old designs are being reproduced and sort of made for everyday carry.

Re: Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
I'm not actually convinced these are printed by EPCC, rather the Taiwan factory ( I don't have a deck in hand yet so if you do - sorry) I've been led to believe these were produced by Aloys so it's not really surprising info is vague and sparse.

Re: Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
Thanks Paul. Let us know if you find any more info on these. I ordered one (blue) based on the information they were from EPCC. But if they're not, at least I ordered just one and won't be getting the other colors.
Another retailer I found these at had them listed as created by Xu Yu Juan. Is that Aloys?

Re: Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
Sorry for causing confusion but these decks are DEFINITELY not EPCC (or LPCC for that matter) which has been confirmed by Lawrence.
It's highly likely they are the same Taiwan factory, however there isn't a single 'made in' or 'printed in' description anywhere on the deck. We have just the blue deck and we will see how it goes, but i'm glad we didn't purchase our usual amount of these!

Re: Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
We just got our stock in and they feel identical to Expert finish. Also box is the same template, etc. But you are right there is no printed in on the bottom which is on just about every Expert/Legends deck we carry. This deck is very interesting, with very little information. I am going to call Bill Kalush and see what he has to say. Will keep you updated...Paul Middleton wrote:Sorry for causing confusion but these decks are DEFINITELY not EPCC (or LPCC for that matter) which has been confirmed by Lawrence.

Re: Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
I hope that most people realize by now that the EPCC/LPCC don't actually own their own manufacturing facilities like the USPCC does. They contract with a Taiwanese factory to make their decks, as Paul has already mentioned. I can create a company called the SPCC (Sinjin Playing Card Company) and use the exact same Taiwanese factory to make my decks. Its my understanding that most custom playing cards coming out of Taiwan now are from that same manufacturer. If you like the feel and handling of EPCC/LPCC decks, you'll probably like these. One exception possibly could be the Chicken Nuggets deck. While they're made in Taiwan also, Hanson has claimed his JN replica's are not from the same factory used by EPCC. They sure do feel and smell the same as EPCC decks though. . .

Re: Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
Indeed, they're essentially conduits. However we get great value from working with LPCC and Lawrence and his attention to detail, knowledge and experience has made every LUXX release better, without doubt.
Lawrence was absolutely clear they're not printed by EPCC, but I agree with GM - they definitely have the same box structure as some of the tucks used by LPCC/EPCC so I'm sure they're the same factory.

Re: Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
As Paul mentioned they are not printed by expert nor legends however possibly at the same factory. Custom decks at the Taiwan factory are supposed to remain exclusive to expert/legends. I talked to Lawrence and he is going to dig a little deeper into whats going on with this deck. I will keep you guys updated. Let me know if you have any questions.

Barring a recent change, which I see no reason why the factory would agree to, this is not the case. Plenty of other companies have used them for custom decks in the past.gotmagic wrote:Custom decks at the Taiwan factory are supposed to remain exclusive to expert/legends.

Re: Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
What I mean is if someone wants a custom deck of cards made(other than casinos) they have to go through either expert or legends playing card co. They can't go direct to the factory.MagikFingerz wrote:Barring a recent change, which I see no reason why the factory would agree to, this is not the case. I thought the BOMBMAGIC (Bomber PCC) custom decks were from this factory, and they don't go through Legends or Expert. And weren't the Fat Boys produced at the same factory?gotmagic wrote:What I mean is if someone wants a custom deck of cards made(other than casinos) they have to go through either expert or legends playing card co. Re: Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
I received my light blue Glamor Nuggets decks from Got Magic and I am really happy with these cards. These cards fan so smoothly I'm amazed that they are not USPCC cards. I like the color. For my magic, I like the standard faces. I will be able to mix the cards with other decks to do color-changing back tricks. I think they could have worked a little more on the ace of spades and jokers, but they fit in with the rest of the cards. Aside from the very high price, I am very satisfied with this deck.
I forgot to mention that they faro beautifully from the faces to the backs - or bottom to top for me. I am no faro master, but these weave together so smoothly I was actually impressed.

Re: Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
Hello,
these cards are really mystery to me ..
Some people have sets of different colors, other have limited edition, blue was easy to find but now completely sold out, and nobody really seem to know who are producing these.
Yes, it is a lazy project but they feel quite nice and as a lover of Golden Nugget I like the design.
But do you know where to find these limited edition ? or sets ?
Thanks

Re: Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
I believe (not 100%) that the producer is a Card Shop in China (EPCS) who had the decks printed in Taiwan.
On August 29th, EPCS began sales of all four colors (blue, red, orange and brown) of the Glamor Nuggets as well as 432 limited edition sets through their website, limiting 2 sets per customer...the sets were sold out within 4 hours of release. The individual colored decks (I think that there were another 200+ available of each color) were just sold out this past weekend.
Though I don't believe that there will be another opportunity to get a limited edition set (except through secondary markets like eBay), I am sure that they will release the other colors to the retailers that have the blue decks. From earlier in the post, you can also see that they might release 2 more colors(black and purple), which would be nice, but I haven't seen or heard anything about them yet.

Re: Glamor Nugget Limited Edition Playing Cards
Lazy. Yup.
But well thought through, the old shiny nugget.
Constructed rarity.
Some few are given out exclusively, so that most, o dear, miss out.
(Others have some ! Why not me ?!!)
Desire thwarted.
Limited availability ?
The numbers produced are vast but selectively drip fed.
The reserve stockpiled for the active desirability built into chasing false numbers.
Ignored, they have nothing !
( yes, that select few being the only winners. woopee. )
Such is the way of profiteering.
The most chase the least.
The least drip favors, but you must want, must have, that which is not.
Pyramid Selling.
The least need the most as a base.
If the base does not exist, is removed, the least fall, and fail !
O dear.
Not.
So, if you wish to climb the pyramid .... buy in.
If not, stand back and watch the spectacle as humanity chases its tale.
Lies. Distractions. Trumpifications. Fakery. Showmanship. Sleight of hand.
Fun and Games. Gloss and Shine. The Shimmer in the Dark.
Ooo, Shiny !
Last one left !

Thanks for the details
It's funny that they might become as expensive as 40 year old real Golden Nugget which have a finish that will never be reproduced
Hard to be a collector : i should not care about them but I can't stop myself wishing to buy some ..
