KS Deck Flowers by Alien Ink CANCELLED

As part if my everyday routine of checking up on new KS decks I noticed one wasn't listed anymore. Upon looking it up I found the Alien Ink guys cancelled their Flowers Project. It was losing steam fast so that may be the obvious reason.

Why would they relaunch. Did not they get the message the first time. I do not to like to be overly critical but they may be the most hideous cards I have seen in a while

Ugh, and I do like the back design. The fronts though... yech. This is really a theme that would be far more suited to a wispier and less cartoonish design. Like think of what if the people who did Bohemia took on a flower theme?

They already cancelled and restarted this project once. How many times are they going to do it before they realize it won't get funded?

Amusingly after posting this, these just arrived in the mail. Wow, just wow though.

First, they send me a "poster" separately, which was basically just a printed 8x10 of one of the Aces. Sadly this cost them $5 in shipping and it looks like crap.

Second, the decks. Wow they are so bad. Muddy, with a "linen" finish (which they call cambric) which muddies and washes out the colors. The tuck is flimsy
and washed out. You can't even read the words on the back. I will probably post some pics tonight.

How could that be? Wasn't this deck produced by a manufacturer, who used super secret materials created by NASA and the CIA? They couldn't reveal the manufacturer because it was a "trade secret" and they might be killed? I did find it strange that their second deck was being produced by USPCC especially since they said the Alien deck was a higher quality deck. What a bunch of clowns.

Funny your review of this deck is quite different than one on Youtube. Have you tried breaking in the cards for a while, apparently that is necessary with this deck. Check out the review here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=SwB ... =endscreen

I really try to keep an open mind about non USPCC decks, but the quality on the galaxy decks was atrocious. What's sad is that the actual artwork was quite good, in the Alien Ink Shirt tread someone posted the artists deviant art page and it's excellent. Apparently India isn't the place to get your cards printed.

Not sure why anyone would back this project or any other project they have. This is what they wrote on Kickstarter concerning the first deck the did, Galacxy Cards:

Every penny of the money we received for the cards now at retail, went straight into more shipping, which is why you see another wave or people receiving their cards and posting comments recently.

We are sending out the rewards as fast as we can. Any money we garnish from retail, or Amazon, has gone straight into shipping more cards out to backers and we are using these outlets to help get you your cards as soon as we can.

Hi ! we got funds today so your order will be shipped Monday and that is final. Thanks for offering to pay the shipping but you already did and thanks again for your patience.

So basically they don't have enough money to ship out the cards that people already paid for, which by the way included shipping. So all those poor people who backed their deck and still haven't received their cards yet, have to wait for them to sell more at retail so they could ship out the rest of the pledges. More business geniuses.

Think about how bad it actually is. They only had 165 backers and international orders paid extra money for their shipments. How much could have the US shipments been? $700- $800? Between the 2 of them they couldn't come up with that money in the last 3 or 4 months? That just shows you what kind of people you are dealing with.

The Galaxy Cards are probably the worst cards I own.
