If you think about $70 incl. shipping (in the US) for two - guess what, you've just been given 12 extra decks for free.
That makes perfect sense. We are paying for 2 decks with all the bells and whistles and the other dozen decks are just plain old vanilla with no sprinkles in a cup. Basically the dozen blue & red decks are like "Riders" that we can play poker with or practice cardistry.

I'll undoubtedly put a couple aside, but yep that's what I plan to do with the rest. Doubting the eBay market will be that strong on them - as everyone will have received them (& listed) before I get them to Australia.

That said the standard red and blue decks actually don't look bad. Eddie says that the Liberty printed decks are good quality - this project will at least give us a plenty of samples to try. ;)

7 decks for $43 is great. I agree, I would've just want one of each of the 3 but selling them won't be hard for me or giving them away.

This project reminded me of a past Kickstarter project that Jackson Robinson cancelled. One that I wished had a lower funding goal to succeed. Well anyway, it has similarities in which you had to buy either half a brick to get the sought after limited deck or a dozen for two. I'm pretty sure you guys remember that one.
Even though it's not part of this thread Jackson, please bring it back with a reasonable funding goal this time.

This deck was designed by Jackson. There is a possibility that this is that deck, slightly changed, but this time the voice, of an asshole, isn't making a big deal. If you'll look back at the silver arrow peoject, you can see some similarities. There's a lot added to the liberty decks though.

The deck that Talisman is talking about was called Silver Arrow and you're right. ;)

I should've known GW was going to do a gilded deck. I think it'll look great complimenting the shiny gold tuck.

all 3 decks
all 3 decks
Just wanted to see if anybody else has run into this problem with their Liberty decks.
Red and Blue deck texture
Red and Blue deck texture
The two standard decks (blue and red) seem to be VERY sticky (can't even fan the deck properly). I'm not exactly sure why but upon closer inspection I think it might have to do with the texture that is supposed to mimic air-cushion finish on the cards.

Oddly enough, the gilded/gold add-on deck doesn't exhibit this stickiness at all. Here's a closer look at the gilded deck's texture which looks more evenly spaced than the blue and red decks.
Gilded deck texture

Can anybody look at theirs and confirm too?

I couldn't fan my red/blue decks well. They felt very papery and stiff to me. They improved somewhat after breaking in but still didn't fan smoothly. The gold deck handled great right out of the box, but I expected it to since that one was printed by EPCC.

Yeah, the tuck box was wrapped in cellophane and then inside the cards were also wrapped in cellophane.

I got my decks today and well.... the Gold Edition (EPCC) is pretty nice, but the Red & Blue Standard (Liberty PCC) are a bit disappointing.

1. All 3 tuck boxes have a flap inside at the bottom, which i hate (makes ist harder to get the cards back in the box)
2. Gold Edition fans and spreads nice, red & blue not so much.
3. Gold Edition has corners like all USPCC/EPCC/Legends Decks which most of us used to it, but red & blue have more rounder corners ( see picture below)
4. Court cards of the Gold Edition are beautiful, red/blue not so much (maybe just personal impression, see picture :? )
5. Gold Edition has 2 Jokers, red & blue have 3 Jokers, why ?

Image

I'm not saying these are really bad (i have decks that are much worse than this) but Liberty Playing Card Company (printer) should improve some things in future.

I see Jackson's style in the gold courts which is nice, but It looks like someone was messing with court border that didn't know what they were doing...

I think that was intentional... There are other elements outside the court border.

"Liberty" is spelled wrong on the gold tucks. The cellophane on the standard decks are very loose though I just plan on giving those away. It's a lot of minor things going on with these decks but we don't want them consistent with future releases.
