I wouldn't assume everyone is "buying the story" so much as most of us don't care what is being said as long as (hopefully) any progress is being made toward receiving the decks. He could tell me he had to wait until he genetically engineered unicorns that would chariot the decks to my doorstep with trumpeters and leprechauns to herald their way and I wouldn't look in awe thinking someone made unicorns but just expect, hopefully, again, that the bullshit marked shit getting done.alric wrote:I'm surprised so many people are buying Erik's story that it's the fulfillment company's fault he hasn't begun shipping.

Was there a past update that Erik stated that the value of the Canadian dollar decreased compared to the US dollar and that when funds were collected and with all the production setbacks he ran out of funds to pay for shipments?

Re: Mana - Platinum/Gold/"Sybil" - fulfillment status - ???
From his February 27, 2016 Update:
"Funds have depleted and I’ve lost a lot of money on this project already. Much of that had to do with the redo of the tuck boxes, the first batch of shipments, and the fast and steady decline of the Canadian dollar, which affected both Buskers and Sybil heavily last year. Back in 2014 (during the KS campaign) the US/Canadian dollar was $1USD = $1.08CDN. Last year it dropped to $1.35CDN. That is a huge drop in our dollar. To give you some perspective of what that translates to for the cost to produce Sybil, which include the decks, uncut sheets, the coins, both tuck box manufacturing, the collector boxes, and the shipping between China to Taiwan to US was just over $31,000 USD, at an average of $1.28 that equates to over $39,680.
This year, the dollar has been floating between $1.35 to $1.42. So for every $1000 USD I spend for shipping, it will cost me $350 to $400+ more. That’s not peanuts. It is offensive and literally debilitating to any Canadian business that relies on US suppliers. Not to mention that USPS has also increased their rates and has changed the way they charge international packages."

Just got a notice by email that my Mana order has shipped. There's a shipping number, and everything.
Guess he just needed a swift kick in the pants to get on it!

Just like the Red Sox in game 4 of the 2004 World Series, I'm not going to drop my guard until the last out in the 9th is made. Same here, got the email earlier today, now that things are finally moving I am terrified that I will get them and they will be horribly damaged, or have some sort of tragic flaw just to spite me.

Re: Mana - Platinum/Gold/"Sybil" - fulfillment status - ???
Just got my notice too, but I'm a little weary as I pledged in both the regular and signature series campaigns and his update earlier said they weren't processing those yet.
This currently only reflects orders from this campaign not including the combined orders from the Signature Series campaign which are also being assembled together and still need to be entered into their system.

We may just have to wait and see. Things seem to be moving. I am not sure if the fast speed is a good thing for my confidence or a bad thing.Yup! Should be the combined order for both the Signature set and your original pledge.

Re: Mana - Platinum/Gold/"Sybil" - fulfillment status - ???
Seems to me that it would be a ridiculously elaborate ruse to send out a bunch of tracking numbers with no intention of actually shipping out *something* -- or, to reply to queries with deliberately false information -- especially when a lawsuit is already on the line.
For what it's worth, I'll add another data point to those mentioned above: I just received an e-mail today like the ones posted above with a tracking number. Will it correspond with an actual shipment of my complete order? An incomplete or incorrect order? An empty box? A box of rain? Candygram? Landshark? No shipment at all?
Who knows?
More news as it develops.

Re: Mana - Platinum/Gold/"Sybil" - fulfillment status - ???
Erik has actually reached out to me and has been corresponding with me for the past week. I gave him a list of conditions that I wanted met in order for me to hold off on the lawsuit for now, and he agreed my conditions were reasonable. Of course, one of the conditions is that he communicate more frequently and provide weekly updates on the progress of shipping. While there are still some things that don't add up for me in regards to fulfillment, he's shown me enough to have me feel reasonably convinced that a substantial amount of pledges are going out as we speak and that fulfillment as a whole will be completed within a month.
Having said that, until I start seeing all of our forum members here reporting that they have received their complete orders, as well as other backers reporting the same on the Comments page of his campaign, I won't let up on the pressure. I think it was extremely unfortunate that it took the organization of a lawsuit to finally push him over the edge to do what he should have done almost a year ago. He's actually a pretty talented designer and these Mana Sybil decks are exquisite (I know because I got a gold, platinum, and Livida set from Mike during the Christmas exchange last winter) but he needlessly destroyed his own reputation. At least it now appears we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, and for that I'm thankful.

Re: Mana - Platinum/Gold/"Sybil" - fulfillment status - ???
I have to say thanks John for getting the ball rolling because I find it very unlikely that had you not threaten Erik with this lawsuit that he'd have gotten this far on his own. Of course until we see these orders in our hands we'll know for sure if this is legit.sinjin7 wrote:Erik has actually reached out to me and has been corresponding with me for the past week. Has anyone outside USA got any shipping notifications?

Re: Mana - Platinum/Gold/"Sybil" - fulfillment status - ???
I am so disappointed, apparently, he sent these to my old address despite me emailing him and now some other person got my package for free .
I emailed him again and sent a message on KS, hopefully he can rectify this.

I've actually had packages arrive that still said they were still waiting to be shipped. Kinda crazy but there are cracks in USPS.4.of.Clubs wrote:Not sure what order these are shipped in, I'm in the US but mine isn't shipped or in transit yet (USPS notifies me when something is addressed to me).
