ARCHIVE -The USUALLY up-to-date list of Kickstarter Projects
Re: The USUALLY up-to-date list of Kickstarter Projects 12/1
I haven't read through the kickstarter, so forgive me if they mention this:Adam wrote:Added:
To be "precision" dice, wouldn't they have to make the amount of metal machined away from each side exactly the same? So that the weight is even all over?
The 1 spot would look the biggest, and then they'd get smaller with the 6 side spots being the smallest.
Just a thought.

Actually she states on the KS page itself: "By changing the drill depth of each pip to compensate for the mass of the material removed from the opposite face, I was able to match the geometric Centroid to the center of mass. This was readily accomplished in the ideal world of parasolid modeling."
So the pips remain the same size and vary somewhat in depth with the 6 being the shallowest. Wonder if each pip on a given face also varies as it is further from or closer to the centre.

Re: The USUALLY up-to-date list of Kickstarter Projects 12/2
I had some leftover cash from my deck sales on eBay so I pledged for some stainless steel dice.
It's more of a conversation/display piece than something I would use for actual gaming.

These look very intersting. I have done CNC work and I would be very intersted to see how they work this project. I get the Aluminum and Tintanium, perhaps the Tungsten but I would think Stainless and copper may be a bit impractical. Still, they will look sweet if the job is done right.neongrey wrote:Probably table-damaging too. This one's actually kind of a ripoff for what they're asking and planning to do.MJF wrote:Those are some BAD ASS looking dice... Ugly as sin (comic sans on the tuck ) but it looks like they might actually get funded.

Re: The USUALLY up-to-date list of Kickstarter Projects 1/14
Hello all! I have been lost for a while. Nice to see this is working again.
There are many new playing cards projects on KS. I don't know how to add those miniatures but if you tell me how, I can add them (not sure if I can update the first post or Adam is still in charge on it).
Best wishes to all

Hey everyone, I'll continue to update this thread. Hopefully by tomorrow evening it should be back on track and 'usually' updated.

Duh, that's a neat trick naming that deck "3Doodler Playing Cards"! Ha! I should try that!
In case you're wondering why he did that, take a look at the REAL 3Doodler:

Thanks for posting the 3Doodler Pen project! That thing looks amazing. I just pledged for one.
That's really low of the NY Lights Deck creator to rename the project to try and grab onto the 3Doodler's coattails! Awesome pen, crappy Deck.
Thanks, Randy
