Theory 11 Deck Shelf
These look pretty nice, too expensive for me though. I'd probably buy a couple if it was $19.99...

I have several. They come in black and white. 42" is $15 if I remember correctly, and 24" was $10. These are nice but not worth the price.

Re: Theory 11 Deck Shelf
Ha, that price is not reasonable, you're probably paying for the Theory11 engraved on it.
The book shelves I use hold 70 decks and costed $27.

Re: Theory 11 Deck Shelf
$40 for a shelf that doesn't even hold a brick is pretty ridiculous. I like the Ikea shelves but they a little too deep for my tastes... I could probably make a good shelf like that for a fraction of the price...

Re: Theory 11 Deck Shelf
If you were looking to display your decks on a shelf / rail, I would make it yourself out of moldings. That way you can make it the length you want.
Go visit Home Depot, and let them know you want to make a plate rail (used for displaying collector plates)

I just have to toot my own horn:
These are the Ikea shelves. I flipped them upside down so as to have a flat surface for decks and coins. Each shelf holds at least 10 decks.

Nice job Flashcards! That looks great! One thing though, seeing those decks (Magna Carta, Virts and above?) on the edge of the shelves makes me nervous just looking at it...careful!

Re: Theory 11 Deck Shelf
Not to worry, Sherman. We don't get too many earthquakes here in Oregon. You have to be more careful about moisture from all the rain The shelves are actually pretty stable. I even used a level when mounting them which is a rare instance of planning ahead for me. The decks turned sideways on the ends allow me to get one more on the shelf and I haven't had one fall off yet... unless I knocked it off myself while rearranging things. I now have a single deck on the edge of each shelf which helps with the symmetry. The Virt decks are on the cardisty shelf and those are indeed the red, black, and blue Black Lions above.
I'm really pleased at how it came out. I call it "Cardlandia". I'm toying with the idea of doing the same thing in the opposite corner of the room. Maybe that might be just too much card display awesomeness? No, I didn't think so. I'm not really an Ikea fan, no matter how good their meatballs are, but for this purpose, the shelves worked out perfectly. I just hope they don't discontinue them before I get around to buying the next set.
On a somewhat related note- Do you know how hard it is find and old fashioned feather duster these days? I want to keep the display dusted but most dusters sold today seem too solid and heavy and I'm afraid they would knock everything over. I'll just have to keep my eye out for the old fashioned kind.

Re: Theory 11 Deck Shelf
Here are two ways you could do it yourself if you wanted to start with a plank of wood and stain it yourself.
Sand the plank to your chosen angle then cut as shown. You can either have a flat front or a slanted front.

Re: Theory 11 Deck Shelf
I've been using these for a while. They're quite similar to the Mosslanda picture ledge from IKEA. A bit too deep if you're only after displaying decks side by side, but works well when you have acrylic cases, or AIP bottles.
Yes, I might be the guy you remember from that thing at that place way back when.

Re: Theory 11 Deck Shelf
I found them at a local furniture store here in Sweden and it seems they don't stock them anymore. But the Mosslanda picture ledges I mentioned (IKEA) aren't too far off from these. Should be an easy build for anyone handy or if you bring it to someone who can do it for you.4.of.Clubs wrote: Those look nice! From where?
