The corrected cards will be gilded along with the decks, it's all just taking a bit longer than we had hoped due to having to solve the issues with the damaged decks, USPCC locating a new gilding company etc. :)

Happy to have received my decks today. However, I can't help but be a little confused about how the backs of the cards turned out. Here is a picture of the back of a card:

However, this is the picture from the campaign as to what it would look like:

I noticed that in Update #9, where Jackson is talking about the mistake with the Ace of Hearts, there is a picture of the back of the cards and it is similar to what I received. I cannot recall any conversation about why the back wouldn't look exactly like the pictures in the campaign. Am I missing something? Unfortunately, the back is so dark it is very hard to see the details and I would've preferred the back shown in the campaign. I hate to say it, especially with everything that Jackson has been through with this campaign and real life, but overall I'm a bit disappointed with how these turned out.

Yeah... that's a bit disappointing looking. Between the color change and the border differences, it's definitely inferior to the rendered image. That's a darn shame in any case, and more so for myself as I went "big" with this project (myself being a native Texan). I'll have to see what mine look like whenever I get them (likely not soon as my order is a bit more complicated).

That looks like it's very hard to see the detail on the back - too bad.

Had the "actual" back been pictured in the campaign I would still think it's nice. But the detail and the thin borders are now just a tease to what could have been. Overall I'm not as disappointed as some of you but it does stink when the KS pics don't match the finished product.

That is a very dark back. I'll wait to hopefully hear from Jackson the details if he's going to or willing to explain it.
Move on, nothing to see here.

Apparently it depends on the lighting but the border is unquestionably huge:

That is some VERY bright lighting and some post op adjustments to the levels. Man this really is a bit of a stinker, and a nice cherry on top of a campaign that's just been one setback after another.

The same thing happened with his Tally-Ho Scarlett and Emerald decks. The border advertised on the campaign had nothing to do with the border on the actual deck, almost twice as thick in the actual deck... So it's not a surprise to see this outcome..

Damn, from the posts, it almost seems like there's 3 versions of the back - the original render, the dark version received by flyers3003, and one in between from MagicOrthodxy's instagram. If the dark version is what they'll will be like, then I'd find that pretty disappointing because I don't think that's what people signed up for. I'm sure we'll get an explanation from Jaskson.

This is yet another nail in the coffin for Kickstarter for me. It's bad enough you have to wait sooooo long to get your decks, and it's even worse when some designers (not Jackson) arbitrarily change things on you, like switching to cheaper printers, after the project closes and they already got your money. Now we have the prospect of decks not turning out the way we expect them. For the Texas deck, there's no question the backs are significantly darker and the borders much wider than the pictures shown during the campaign.

The pic flyers3003 shown is correct folks.........

Don't artists usually receive proofs of their cards/tucks/uncut sheets/etc before anything final is printed? Or is that only for non-USPCC decks?

For example, I back many of Lotrek's projects and he continually updates his backers on the deck's progress, which include presenting pictures of how the cards look. The cards are (unfortunately :( ) often misprinted, which leads to quite a bit of reprinting. However, what we get is an incredibly well done finished product, as advertised.
I can say the same for Stockholm17(Lorenzo) and Thirdwayit(Giovanni) who are both very active with their updates.

As a side note, I can't wait for all their new decks!! (Hieronymus, Gemini, Dedalo) :D :D :D

Man, I'm very disappointed. I was really, really looking forward to this deck and dropped $296 on the campaign. I'm not a big fan of fat borders, but I could deal with them if the back popped like the one advertised on the KS campaign. The back is just too dark. More and more, I prefer Legends to USPCC.

Hey creators out there, please stay away from "Spirit blue." It obscures the beautiful details in your designs.

Yeah it's sad, I went big (big for me) and pledged $146 total as I'm from Texas. :(

It makes me want to ask what is the true darkness of his BackOfCard. I also see 3 versions. Just know. Jackson is just starting out. He is going to make a lot more decks. If you really found a true mess-up of his BackOfCard being dark and muddled up. It is going to be worth a lot more in the future... Why are you helping this guy, don't you get it.

Jackson isn't just starting out though, not only has he made dozens of decks, having used multiple companies, but he has been working as a professional designer for years predating his card work. He is exacting and experienced, and he would have gone through a test print and OK'd the final product which leads me to believe that he intended for the decks to turn out as dark as they have, or he liked what he saw. Assuming we aren't just looking at a run of bad decks and the standard is truer to the original, Jackson isn't new to this game or an amateur.
Jackson completely revolutionized the way I waste money...

Lol. He's avoiding this shit like the plague. It's been days but more than likely he's fulfilling the deck orders by himself so we'll have a visit from him soon.

For those that have received their decks, what's the word on the misprinted card? Is it included separately, was it included at all, etc...

Without me being home now to actually see it, I think it was the Ace of Hearts with diamonds pips in the corners. It was included, in its own single plastic wrap. May be used as a gaff card.

The misprinted card is the AoH. It has diamond pips and is part of the deck. The fixed AoH card is what is in its own plastic sleeve. I received three decks and received three corrected AoH cards.

Cool. I wonder if the legacy folk will receive their extra card in a mini wooden case. :|

Maybe Jackson will stick the extra card into the Legacy case so it is sealed together with the deck as opposed to being separate.

I won't open it, but I'll let you know how many I get, including ones with gilt edges.

Also wonder how Four St James is dealing with the corrected card on the decks they have for purchase. The description on their web store doesn't mention it at all. or am I the only one that wouldn't like that from a retailer?

I saw this comment posted on the Kickstarter campaign today:

"Wow, the cards are beautiful! Looks like the replacement Ace of Hearts has a slightly lighter toned back printing, kinda helps the pattern stand out more."
