Too many cards these days don't seem playable. Or, friends that don't care, other than want a deck of cards, often stop and say, "These are hard to read" or "What's up with this?"

These cards are totally playable. I imagine my friends seeing these at the card game, looking at them and say, "They look cool" and then quickly continuing with the game.

Thinner borders are obviously better, but they look pretty good now too.

This is exactly the point. I wanted to create a totally playable deck, fully custom but also fully functional and recognizable.

+1 to this. A few times I've brought decks to my family holiday rummy games only to have them complain about the decks not being able to be seen or read clearly. There are definitely decks for art and decks for play, and it's nice to have both options from our favorite artists.

Just found this thread now!
I hadn't been paying attention to the deck universe for a while and missed a bunch of stuff.
I am totally on board with the rebranding, I am guessing this will happen after the KS have been completed.
This deck looks exactly like I imagined the secular edition of the ICONs decks to look like ( no halo & no text) so now it leaves me wondering what the changes to that will be.
On a side note, is there no way to get one of those foiled cards that were recycled for the ICONs imperial edition? I saw the pictures and they made me want to dig up Greek paper recycling bins

After a pause I had to make while working on ICONS, I finished the first stage in drawing the Jack of Spades. Just thought it would be interesting to share it as I usually don't show artwork until it's almost finished.

Not at all! In fact it's getting stronger. I just had to do Liturgy first for technical reasons.

What technical reason could there be for not producing these first?

Off the top of my head I would guess that the more bespoke and custom manufacturing process being used for Liturgy has some time constraints on the run up to the holiday season, whereas this deck will likely use the easier to access mass printing processes (and thus be less time constrained)

Not that it matters - you know you are in for a quality product at the end of the day!

The reason is very simple: LITURGY is printed on a stock that is not produced anymore. My supplier had a last quantity that I had to buy "here and now".
So, already having the stock it wouldn't make much sense to have it sitting. Besides, my printer could not store it for ever.

That's a darn good reason! Please triple times three check when you send to printer/cutter because sounds like you'll have NO room for error. :)
Move on, nothing to see here.
