Patrick Valenza`s Royal Mischief

Unread post by ecNate »

Thanks to Jase/Jock1972 for alerting me and others to this one, but I am posting here since this deck is fairly new and deserves its own thread.

Available on the website, but was a little cheaper through the ebay store when it was listed anyhow. As of April 22 edit it has not yet been relisted. Apparently just 777 printed.

There is also an uncut sheet available

Lastly, they also have a tarot deck in a similar style
EDIT - This is the new borderless version and is available cheaper in unsigned form on Amazon if you can sort through the options. There is also the original version available at US Game Systems and Amazon

I updated the original post since I found the tarot decks at lower costs, including the original bordered version.

Also, a number of people are trying to get him to print and sell a full transformation deck instead of the samples included as a bonus with the Royal Mischief deck. Sounds like it's a possibility, I sure hope so! If you also support it, add your comment here - http://www.deviantmoon.com/wordpress/?p=3188

SORRY for not posting this in the "New & Customs decks" myself guys...
Judging by the comments made by around 95% of UC members here , this deck has 3 of the major "No-No`s" that members generally stay away from .Full-Figure Courts , No Indices & Made by non of the Big Card manufacturers.
That`s why i didn`t think about posting...once again sorry

Ordered one. Would have ordered more if the price wasn't so high (deck + shipping). Very curious to see how these turn out.

Received mine today, well packaged thank goodness. I got the same transformation cards as Jase (2oC and 7oH), was really hoping for the 4oH, but at least the 7oH is my top of the 4 so glad that was included. Really hoping he can be convinced to do a full deck of those. Obviously got these for the artwork, the printer is definitely subpar and more like MPC from a few years ago or some other similar cheap printer. Nice enough, but could have been so much better. The tuck was also SUPER tight and with the glossy finish was very hard to get open. Having the seal on the shrinkwrap meant easy removal, but some of you may not like that method. Overall, definitely a top 5% deck in my collection based on artwork and theme though.

8ofC and 2ofC for me. I just ordered the Trionfi della Luna as well.

Tempted to buy a half brick of poker decks, but the pattern looks pretty clear -- the bonus transformation cards are scraping the bottom of the barrel -- so I'll pass.

The website and prior reports only showed the 2ofC, 3ofC,4ofH, 7ofH. Would those who got something else be willing to share a photo?

Also, if anyone doesn't want to keep their bonus cards let me know via PM. I can send a buck or two your way if you send to me in a standard envelope. ;-)

I like this deck and what it symbolizes. I too believe the first suicide king was actually the murdered king. Over the years it just morphed into what we see today. If you look before the suicide king, the KoH and KoD had axes and the KoC and KoS had swords. It just makes sense.

Behold the first suicide king. Well, it's more like a dagger. The gold arm and the seal that faces away gives it away. (C. Hewson 1680)

Hello everyone,

Thanks for your comments regarding the Royal Mischief Deck. To answer some questions: Their are 28 transformation cards in existence ATM...I have got many requests to complete the transformation cards, but that won't be for a very long time, as I am involved with several other card projects.

As for print run, we initially set out to create 777 copies. but we reduced it to 500. (self publishing tends to be quite expensive) We have about 60 copies left before going OOP.
We also have 6 uncut sheets left...these have an unreleased blue back instead of the red that comes with the deck.

Thanks again for your interest in the deck. I look forward to being a part of this wonderful forum in the days ahead!

Regards,
Patrick Valenza

Do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :ugdance:

Thanks for joining here and posting, SUPER looking forward to a possible transformation deck. I sure hope you post a new thread in the drafting board section to keep us updated and collect input (direct help and opinions alike). I also hope you consider going with a proper printer like USPCC/EPCC/Legends, there's a number of other deck producers here to offer you pointers as well. Please post any other deck plans or production completions, even if it isn't the transformation deck in high demand (which really should be first).

Also appreciate the corrections on the deck, updated it for the entry on Portfolio 52.

Wow, yeah maybe not as good for those out of the US. For me it shows as $6 for the pair as a shipping charge.
