Re: Tough Luck
From the page:
WARNING! Please note that this deck, due to the colour of the orange Pantone inks, as well as ink density and coverage, has the effect of ink transfer onto fingers and on to the edge of the decks. This may be able to be used to your advantage as a magician, however we want to be absolutely clear that the decks will bleed ink. While this isn't toxic or dangerous, this can lead to a slight discolouration of the edges of the deck. We are always experimenting at LPCC, and unfortunately this can be one of the side effects of staying on the bleeding (literally) edge of playing card production. We still feel this deck is more than a worthy as a stand-out product with many great features collectors will love. Therefore we decided to release it at an extra-low price point for all the Legends PCC fans and collectors.

Re: Tough Luck
I hate when people don't show the effing cards. If only the back is shown, we can guess they're standard but still show them.

Re: Tough Luck
This deck looks even better in real life! The texture/embossing on the tuck box is something else.. Here's a link to the review I just posted:

Re: Tough Luck
I just watched the review David. First thoughts: "This is good, but not that great, those court cards better be something else OH MY GOD!"
The rest of the deck is pretty good. The courts are amazing. And a great review as always.

Re: Tough Luck
First deck I've pulled the trigger on in a very long time that wasn't a KickStarter deck. Especially for the price, a must buy! Thanks for sharing, I had the same reaction - another meh standard, wait, click, buy, done.

Re: Tough Luck
What's funny is that they posted a warning about ink bleeding but I never noticed any with this, however I did definitely notice it with one of my Mantecore decks, the diamond finish one I believe but not the other one which is a bit odd.

Re: Tough Luck
Do you mean you bought the deck because of this review video? If so, Sam would be thrilled to hear that lol.ecNate wrote:First deck I've pulled the trigger on in a very long time that wasn't a KickStarter deck. Especially for the price, a must buy! So I do fans, faro shuffles, dribbles, some packet cuts. The edges definitely look more orange now. The white part of the spot cards also have some staining now. But it seems like I can wipe it off with my finger to a certain degree.jerichoholic wrote:What's funny is that they posted a warning about ink bleeding but I never noticed any with this, however I did definitely notice it with one of my Mantecore decks, the diamond finish one I believe but not the other one which is a bit odd.
Thanks man! The box is really cool too, that tree bark paper....Räpylätassu wrote:I just watched the review David. First thoughts: "This is good, but not that great, those court cards better be something else OH MY GOD!"

Re: Tough Luck
I basically blew this deck off because the initial advertising of this deck was pretty lackluster and I wasn't a huge fan of Legend's decks. I'm surprised Legends didn't highlight the tuck box embossing or the court cards more, because they're the best things about this deck. I'm a little disappointed by the one way back, although its not glaring. I love the courts, they're fantastic and if I actually owned this deck, I might have given it consideration for best court cards in the UC Deck of the Year contest. The only negative is that because the courts are full bleed, they're not playable for many card games because the courts are given away when you look at the edges. It's a shame about the smearing ink as well. I hope LPCC fixes this in the future and reprints these decks with a color-safe ink, and I wouldn't mind seeing a super thin border around the courts to make them an actually functional deck for card play.
@Scrambled Decks - back in the good old days at Decknique at the beginning of the custom playing card boom, I used to put out written deck reviews. I don't do them anymore because once I saw people putting out video reviews, I knew that would be the wave of the future and I don't have the time or inclination to put out videos. But from one (former old school) reviewer to another, I want to compliment you on an excellent review. I'll be keeping an eye out for more reviews from you in the future.

Re: Tough Luck
Legends updated their website, and these beauties are available again
I really like this deck and went for a six pack
5,89$ per deck is just awesome.
There are also some other decks that were not available for some time (like Legends v2, Legends of rock,...) & and some new things added (Grinders, Glitch 2.0, Viva Mexico...)

Re: Tough Luck
I got these in a little while ago and I just have to say, the cards are fantastic. I really like the silver detail on the black-suit face cards. I'm really tempted to get more!
