EATCT White Limited Edition

Now available at Hocus Pocus and i'm sure elsewhere in the near future is a new white limited edition version of the Expert At The Card Table deck. Only 1500 produced by EPCC and no idea who they are from exactly other than from an Asian seller apparently.

Well apparently Murphy's says otherwise. Perhaps it was Legends then or just from the same factory but not EPCC.

My first thought when I saw the edges of the cards was USPC but pretty sure they would definitely mention them if it was.

I have it directly from Bill Kalush that he did not print them. He's usually pretty aware of Legends products as well. His guess is that it's USPCC. Trying to find more info...

I would doubt it's USPCC. They've never created a tuck like this before:


Obviously it doesn't mean it's not possible but my money is it's not USPCC. Very possible that it's another printing company entirely.

USPCC actually has done sideways tucks before. It's not common and not one of their standard templates, but it has been done.

My first guess was also EPCC/LPCC based on the images and tuck.

At this point I'm not making any further assumptions until I get more concrete info.

It's not unusual for someone to use USPC for the cards then another company for the tucks though is it? Pretty sure T11 does that these days (could be wrong).

Got a little more news...

I checked with USPCC, and they verified that they didn't print these. We both have asked over at Murphy's if they can provide us with any extra info. Not sure when we might hear back, because I think some folks are off for a long Easter weekend, so we might not hear more until next week.

I have a deck on order, which should arrive next week sometime.

It is likely that an Asian shop had these produced through the same manufacturer as LPCC/EPCC but not through either company as we have seen with a few other decks.

Word is that this is from Aloys Studio which is weird since they haven't done anything in quite some time. They've always printed through USPC though. How come no one can get any straight answers on this deck?

This is the info that I got from Murphy's:

"These come from an overseas supplier that is a boutique printer, but doesn’t provide their actual printing company name. There is no printing information on the deck."

Definitely not a lot to go on. I'll post some more photos and impressions of the feel of the stock/finish when I get them next week, though I'm sure someone could beat me to that.

Just my 2 cents, there have been designers, especially overseas, who have gone directly to the Taiwan printer that EPCC and LPCC use for there decks. That would be my guess as for the printer, I have some shout outs for additional info.

You just reminded me of something- I think the one deck Aloys didn't print via USPCC was the limited edition White Tune. I forget who printed it but if it wasn't EPCC do you think the same co. printed this one too?

So here's what I have, it was produced by Haim Goldenberg (Expert Decks), they handle very well, it definitely has the Taiwan plant feel and "Smell". They have the smooth feel and imprint of the Master Finish. I would still put my money on it coming from the Taiwan plant.

Note: The tuck is a smooth white paper, the "Book Look" is printed on, its not embossed.

Given recent information it's curious how adamant Bill was about these not being printed by EPCC. I mean we still don't know for sure but we also don't not know for sure, right?

Doesn't sound like "Expert Decks" is the same as EPCC. The Taiwanese factory definitely has other clients than EPCC and LPCC, so I guess this is just a new producer we haven't heard of before.

Edit - my understanding as well is that the tuck is not textured, that's actually painted on texture.

These seem more like knockoffs than anything else. I can't seem to fathom why Murphy's would get these decks, do they not even bother to get info before they make a purchase? Or perhaps they are trying to make a quick buck or something. Or the creator of the deck is trying to make a quick buck. Seems like someone is trying to con someone with this one. Stay away from these dollar store knockoffs.
