Re: LUXX Elliptica from JP Playing Cards and Randy Butterfie
Another home run Paul! The LUXX series is definitely becoming one of my favorite sets of decks. Any plans to go back to the Palme and do two more colors? The original technically has 4 colors, and the Elliptica will have four. Might be nice if the Palme had 4 as well.

They look sweet Paul!!
I always say that a 3D Render will never do justice to a Foil material. These look sooooo much better in real life than my Renders!
Thanks, Randy

We are tweaking the green back and tuck slightly.

Just a heads up, anyone planning on bulk ordering these? I was thinking about it. If anyone is interested, PM me and we'll discuss the details.

Re: LUXX Elliptica from JP Playing Cards and Randy Butterfie
Will there be the limited version only or is a second version planned? If I remeber right Paul, you said they should be cheaper compared to the earlier LUXX releases and more for genereal use.

Re: LUXX Elliptica from JP Playing Cards and Randy Butterfie
A second edition will most probably be printed at some stage, but we will wait to see how well these are received first.
We have every intention of making them the most affordable LUXX so far, but perhaps not as much as we'd like - the pound is much closer to the dollar these days so it's a bit more challenging.

Re: LUXX Elliptica from JP Playing Cards and Randy Butterfie
I should add, that whilst the price won't be as low as perhaps we first wanted in GBP, in USD it probably will look much lower simply because of the exchange rate, we are aiming for £6.99/£6.49 so if the current rate stays the same they will be approx $10 USD. Which is without a doubt the best price we've been able to achieve so far. Factor in free delivery for orders over £40 and they're great value, in my opinion.

Re: LUXX Elliptica from JP Playing Cards and Randy Butterfie
We've tweaked the green back and tuck slightly and opted to dark the pantones a touch. As the green back didn't quite seem to work as well as others in the flesh, and the tuck also. That info has already been added to the product page a few days ago but thought i'd mention it here too.

Actually, if it's because it looks like it's a Twitter only giveaway - i don't think it is, I think you may be able to do other things to enter too. Tweet may just be one of them.

I'm not that upset- it's my own fault, really. I choose not to have any social media accounts (FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) so I can't complain. I just like non-social media contests better because I can participate!

Re: LUXX Elliptica from JP Playing Cards and Randy Butterfie
Ah I see, fair play to you!
So here is some extra info' and news for Elliptica:
- 50 Matching Numbered Split Bricks will be available here: http://jpplayingcards.co.uk/luxx-ellipt ... plit-brick" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
- 99 Matching Numbered Sets (all 4 colours, plus matching dealer coin) will be available here: http://jpplayingcards.co.uk/luxx-ellipt ... -sets-only" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The 99 sets will be numbered from 002/1000 through to 100/1000 and we will allocate them in the order they are purchased. So the first to order will get the 002/1000 set and so on.
If you have already added your email to the standard deck page (http://jpplayingcards.co.uk/luxx-ellipt ... ying-cards" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) you will be notified FIRST about all 3 pages going live at least 20 minutes before anyone else on this thread, social media, newsletters, etc.
Any more questions, let me know!

The situation on those is the same, we should have them available to put into Elliptica orders (they're coming from Legends at the same time).

Pre-orders are scheduled to begin April 1st, 4PM UK time, the only thing that will slow it now is unforseen freight delays.

Re: LUXX Elliptica from JP Playing Cards and Randy Butterfie
Exactly. 'Merikuns have NO respect for tradition, nor true grasp on them, they just Ass-u-me that the way "we" do it here is superior to any other.Paul Middleton wrote:Not sure how the tradition goes on the US, but over the pond if you play an April Fools prank after 12 noon the jokes on you!
I can assure you everyone, this is NOT a joke, nor is there any chicanery involved in the deal, prize offered (see "Global" announcement Paul has posted yesterday about the two coming winners of his contest - which is only able to be entered here by members of this website. It's all quite real, and I am more than happy to guarantee the fact that Paul's offer is indeed genuine, and in no way intended (except by juxtaposition date-wise). It was originally scheduled for the last day of this month, but now moved to the first day of April and that specific date is the last day for entry in the contest, which - without me adding/interpreting/augmenting the rules, methods of entry nor prizes, it is in the contest offer thread here ("UnitedCardists thread #7960, JP's Luxx Ellipticca giveaway UC member-only contest") - you need to enter the contest after reading the rules, following those instructions and take the time to read back to make certain that you cast a valid vote (i.e. not submit a number that has previously been claimed)... Without going into the nuts and bolts, I don't see any other potential conflict.
John, anything to add to my "IANAL" analysis? I am just shooting from the hip, understood that there's absolutely no bearing on contract law nor any other aspect of jurisprudence WRT 1-April, tradition nor otherwise.sinjin7 wrote:Huh? I din't say nuttin'... ??
