Loranzo, in your set of photos above, what is the difference and use/source of the first 2 cards? The first one looks perfect, but the second has a much whiter background and REALLY changes the feeling of the card from an ancient one to a modern interpretation. Please tell me you are still going to have the darker aged look for the background like the first image, at least in the standard deck! I know some of these are early sketches, but I just need a confirmation. If it's a lighting difference then I would encourage you to go even darker and more aged on the background and overall tone.

Otherwise, looking good!

Also, did you mention or decide yet how many deck variations there will be? For the record I get really annoyed when more than 1 or 2 editions come out, but if they sell I can't fault you (I will still just have to be selective).

Those pictures are a mix of photoshop, instagram, facebook and a screenshot (the cold one, superwhite queen of spades). I will not use textures, the white of the card will be the background. Using a very pale color in CMYK does not work very well unfortunately. But I will look into that..
Usually the warm light will depend by the type of light hitting the card.

I dont know how many versions I make, I guess 2 colors as always.... I did not plan anything yet, just working on the courts

All courts are done (semifinal), and the pips have been designed as well. HUGE! I hope you like them
The design of the box has started (just spotted a mistake in the latin: it should be MUTUS, not MOTUS)

The back, 4 aces and the 2 jokers are not ready.

Darn, you broke the rule of the squeezers. You are now an art deck. How many cards can you hold in your hand. A regular deck is about 13- 15 Jackson tried to do this once. He was very close to deleting me on FaceBook. He said his mother would not understand. Your cards need to be more playable. Now it's more like 10-11-12 cards in a hand.

I do like your "Huge" pips. But I look at the big picture.

I totally understand, I was thinking of giving a standard index Gemini. But that is only a thought for now. The deck is not ready, and the campaign is unplanned

The squeezers work just fine for hold'em - besides if function was the primary factor we judge decks by we wouldn't be so dismissive of all the "minimalist" decks that get churned out every five minutes like they are new ideas!

You could also argue that having the squeezers read left-to-right rather than top-to-bottom is more natural for reading, and therefore more functional.

Personally I just like 'em!

There are more likely thousands of playable decks in the market. Let the artist do his/her art the way he/she visions it. Not every deck has to fit in the same mold.

This deck looks like a masterpiece so far.

I really like the Large pips and the Horizontal indices. I think the indices are at least small enough that you could easily play any traditional card game, unless maybe you're really bad at Gin Rummy (Or have bad luck) and never get any cards on the table. But I hope you consider keeping the design the way it is, I would offer that there are a large portion of us that would like to see it stay the same.

I'll see if I can add a stretch goal where I print a very basic gemini deck with standard index, no special features, cheapest tuckbox. As the display deck Jackson did.
Therefore another version where just the index changes, and probably the layout a bit.

The problem is one thing: the damn shipping costs. Adding weight to an international package dramatically increases the cost.
Anyway, I'll do some math when the time comes.

Notice who said that (the person quoted)?? It's Admiral Grace Hopper US Navy, no longer with us, but I met her about 15 years ago when I was first working Naval Intelligence. She's quite a character! She and her team at what later became NRL (Naval Research Labs) invented "COBOL" (COmmon Business Oriented Language) back in the 50's, the first practical computer programming language - ignoring Assembler, which of course was originally just coding machine language more-or-less byte by byte, but later developed into a more practical language when you needed to get deep in the weeds especially as far as doing machine level things like device drivers (in the old days).

+100 for cheap, display decks. For me, it's about the cards. Tuck boxes have much less interest. Cheap display decks are the way to go!
