Re: Slate Tally-Ho by KWP

I've gotta say I miss Jackson's monthly subscriptions. I loved almost every deck from the both the regular and vintage reimagined subs, but haven't bought a thing since he stopped those. On the plus side, my bank account seems to be doing much better lately!

Edit: also realized that the free black coin was officially announced to be in matte black color, but came as glossy black instead (from their original samples). Now it becomes a big deal as this had been a bad handling/communication between their supplier. Just annoying that their vision (what the...

Yeah mine arrived in good condition yesterday, but I was disappointed to see three decks in a flimsy bubble mailer with each deck just in a single bubble wrap bag.

is this a problem for every printer? It seems now a problem for every collector. Maybe the customization industry is the problem itself. No standard border width for all and then the printers just can't cope. Me personally, as long as it isn't an obvious misprint where art is ruined, I don't mind. ...

You know, I'm not usually a fan of large swaths of black and gold. Often it just looks gaudy or tacky to me. But these are really nice! Maybe it's the double gold border or the fact that the background is not completely black. I'll have to pick up whatever I can afford.

Is it just me, or does that Joker look a bit out of place? Seems to be a good adaptation of the original joker, but that art style just clashes a bit.

Honestly I think they just lack any understanding of aesthetics or design consistency. All they saw was "Gunmetal and Black" and were like "Oh my god that's so cool!" and didn't even stop to realize that it doesn't go with the decks at all.

I didn't think about that. That exciting! Kind of like Lorenzo's Polaris box, but that's an acrylic carat case, not wood.

On the other hand, Barbie is a great theater experience! Saw it last night, and it's genuinely one of the funniest (and best.....and weirdest) movies I've seen in a while. It somehow manages to perfectly walk the line of at times going completely off the rails, while still maintaining strong narrati...

Unfortuantely I disagree around the ill will. Lack of communication followed up by a lack of responses to MANY direct emails and messages on KS (he's never responded to any of them) means that I am done with Vanda as a source of playing cards. The fact that he was holding sales during that dark per...

Got mine as well.

But I agree, this project has been quite frustrating. Particularly because he doesn't want to address the elephant in the room more than a few token sentences. I'm sure he has some (potentially) valid reasons for the delays, but his communication regarding them is very lacking.

Saw the new Guardians of the Galaxy last night. Great movie! It felt a little slow in parts of the first 1/2, but it really came together in the end. The 3rd act is just James Gunn at his best. Half way through the film, I was prepared to say it wasn't as good as the 2nd one, but the 3rd act absolut...

Yeah I'm not sure what this "private reserve" issue is. Is this about him pulling out low number decks to keep for himself? If so, then that's some thing that lots of designers do (Omar and Lorenzo included). I've been buying from Jackson since his beginning in 2013, and have never had a s...

I love this art, but the "sanctuary" on the front is too hard to read. Fix that, and you could have a winner. Also, what are these thick black horizontal lines for? I feel like they're just getting in the way of the art.

Not really a comic book movie, but I just saw Dungeons & Dragons last night. A lot of fun! Good characters, good writing. Definitely felt like I was watching a campaign that repeatedly went off the rails, but in a good way! Highly recommend!

I assume this picture is the Queens tier. Higher tiers get more stuff like special frames and uncut tucks. Totally worth it in my opinion.
