Re: NEOTOKYO Playing Cards by Kardeck / KS
So what the hell did I do to you? Absolutely nothing. In every conversation I've had with you you have been nothing but good-natured and good-humored, and through direct interaction as well as my reading of your posts I've come to recognize and respect your aesthetic perspective: you know what you ...

Re: Cocktail Cards: 52 Classic Cocktail Recipe Deck - KS
I'll take the book form vs looking through a deck of cards for a drink recipe. I can understand the argument for utility; a pack of cards is much more portable than a book, and has the added benefit of doubling as a gaming tool as well as a reference. But if that's the idea, the selection of paper ...

Firstly: my strong suggestion is that you revisit your Kickstarter preview/banner image. Yes, the tuck turnaround looks cool, but there's no shortage of deck campaigns that can boast a neat tuck render and literally not a damn thing else - especially in the crowded subgenre of "Japan Cool"...

Well, I would certainly like to be able to like this. Kings of India is still one of my favorite decks, and the use of dense, visually distinctive lineart patterns instead of color to create contrast is one I think would fit the theme well. But this one feels like it needs some constructive feedback...

Using a black Sharpie marker, he added mustaches to the Queens and eye-patches to the Kings. One of the Jacks is now wearing hand-drawn glasses, and another is holding a lit cigarette. Ah, a ready-made of the Dadaist school! Truly Lorenzo is a man of culture. No doubt the full deck will command a k...

Try redrawing USPCC courts, no edits, to break you from your sever angular designs. Do same thing with other deck creators who have done standard tweaked courts. You need to "teach" your brain and creativity to learn something new stylistically. The chance that I'll recolor USPCC standard...

Re: Musha and Goketsu by Card Experiment / KS next week
As many of you are already aware of, we had a situation where 2 court cards of the Goketsu Craft deck were duplicated during production. This is entirely our fault due to a lapse in the vetting process during pre-press. We have already arranged for the replacement cards to be printed and we are awa...

Forgive me, not sure how to get more pics posted. You can direct link/embed KS images; it's just a bit counterintuitive. Open the image in a new tab, copy the URL and bracket it in [ img ] tags like you normally would, but use the URL exactly as it appears ; resist the urge to clean up all the oogl...

The Craft deck that I got does not have Jack of Diamonds and Queen of Diamonds. Instead it has the Jack of Hearts and the Queen of Hearts in double. I am the third person in Kickstarter page to report about this so I would assume all the Craft decks are misprinted. I opened my craft deck and didn't...

I'm going to venture that. . . That's paint! Finely ground pigment piped through an airbrush. It's alcohol based so it dries quite fast. No special steps other than clamping it down required. That certainly would explain the... [ gestures encompassingly at photos ] now, wouldn't it. Of course it's ...

How is the gilding? Very interested to know how they compare with WJPC and GW. Not expecting KWP level gilding or even Cartamundi, but would be good to know. So this sent me down a little bit of a rabbit hole. I scoured UC to see if anybody had touched on variations in modern gilding methods, but t...

Mine came in today. They're certainly not for everybody; I don't see that he ever announced the final choice for printer on KS, but the smooth stock certainly does feel like MPC, and the decision to eschew color on the cards completely is going to be a bridge too far for many. But I'm happy with 'em...

Let's say I'll produce three different decks plus two gilded upgrades, 2167 decks total. Please don't ask why, but it means 500 Red, 835 White, and 835 Retro decks. For White and Retro decks, 334 of each will be gilded. The problem is - I have to produce 500 Red decks minimum. My math SAT score was...
