Updated 3 Fly Work

Hey guys,

I know I posted a 3-Fly video ~3 months ago. Here is how the handling has changed since then:

Re: 3 Fly Work

Thank you! I've modified the routine a little bit more since then (currently working on a "no extras" version). I'll hopefully put that up sometime later on.

3 Fly Work

Hey guys,

I've been playing around with the 3 Fly plot. I really enjoy Ponta's handling, but have made a few tweaks...

@Jamm Pakd Cards,
I'm going to work on a card back rework, yes.
I'll try to remove most of the bold colors, so white spots in printing won't be so evident.

Re: REDUX Playing Cards now LIVE on IndieGoGo

Hello everyone, I'm just getting started with Illustrator, but I cleaned up the lines and color scheme in the meantime. *I know the hats aren't right; I'll need to adjust that. https://scontent-a-pao.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/t31.0-8/s960x960/10633386_709246359130975_8022826864213818424_o.jpg What a...

Thanks @Alvinhy. I got started with Illustrator, and I'm working on evening things out, as well as straightening the overall image.
I am trying my best to see how I can incorporate the different points people are presenting.
Thanks to everyone for heir input!

Re: REDUX Playing Cards now LIVE on IndieGoGo

@Volantangel and @BenMorrisRains, I do apologize that my current work is not at the standard you currently see. No doubt I'm going to have to invest even more time to make this something acceptable and aesthetically pleasing. I also agree that praise is less useful if it does not delve into the cent...

@BenMorrisRains, Absolutely. It's very crucial I see what I am doing wrong, learn from them, and try to improve. I'm not sure if I'm there yet, however. The following is a KoC much more in line with the traditional one. Does this solve the proportion issue? https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hph...

Re: REDUX Playing Cards now LIVE on IndieGoGo

@Eoghan and @Cherrynukacola Thanks for your support! @Dazzleguts, I'm glad you find it fun! Regarding the art, if I read right, you think a smoother transition would help them out? I can definitely work on evening out the distinction between the two court halves, if that is what you mean. Cheers, Owen

@jericholic,
I considered the parents for KS, but we needed to give the SSN. Security is pretty high in our household, so we weren't comfortable.
The one dollar shipping is from MPC directly, so I don't think it's off.

REDUX Playing Cards now LIVE on IndieGoGo

Hello everyone, I'm super psyched to say that REDUX Playing Cards are now LIVE! https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/redux-playing-cards/x/8488922 It's a bit of a bummer that they're on Indiegogo instead of Kickstarter, but you go with what you get. This is my first time creating a playing card projec...

@Eoghann
Yes, I got them printed by MPC-- their Linen stock is very nice, comparable or better than Bicycles-- very slippery and good for fans.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I would suggest to be careful in merging the courts. You can clearly see where they join. Integrate them mire seamlessly. :)
Yes, the faces are based off of friends and family, like DM's decks.

I'll try to go for a smoother transition!

Thank you!

Re: Chess Cards Relaunch

In terms of aesthetics, I think you have a good feel for capturing that feel of a board game...it almost feels vintage. What I am unsure of are the two "chess crd" cards. It might seem better to just stick with four Jokers. I understand that's a bit unorthodox, but I think card handlers mi...

Justin Miller's Quantum, while perhaps a little overpriced on E, remains a very visual and impromptu sandwich effect.
Reset, by Paul Harris is another powerful one I have been doing more recently. It can be suited to table or walk around work.
ACR, as someone mentioned, is also a very good start.

Wow, smooth handling, your getup is nice, and you presented it very well! I have been doing my Thunderbird for about two months, how long did it take you to refine your handling?
Thanks

Thanks for your thoughts! Could you clarify on the "single element back" you are referring to? I am new to a lot of this lingo, so it might just be my problem. Is it because the picture lacks depth, or is it something else entirely?

Thank you a lot for your advice--the index idea is one I think would be good to incorporate, color coding them as such. I do have a reveal planned for the card the Joker holds. I will try to post more pictures when the test deck comes from MPC-- I technically have very card's image done.

New to designing-- All Advice Appreciated!

Hello everyone, I have been working to create a custom deck of playing cards that represents my typical art style, but still in the familiar Bicycle frame, with a slightly tweaked color scheme, and completely redesigned pips, back design, and tuck box, At 15, I suspect I have a lot to learn, so any ...
