Re: 52 Plus Joker 2024 Annual Playing Card Convention, Niagara Falls NY, Oct. 2-6
Isn't Niagara Falls something of a romantic couples' destination? Could I market a trip there that way to my partner? :ugthink: Just an FYI, for those of you thinking to bring spouses, girlfriends, boyfriends, etc. The room rate that the club negotiates for this convention applies for a full three ...

Re: Divine Art Playing Cards Relaunch -- Live on KS
I've been offering Guru some advice here and there with his deck, free of charge. He sent me a prototype deck of Divine Art made at MPC. Now, put aside the fact that MPC decks don't faro/weave shuffle "gracefully" due to the way that they're being cut from the sheet. The actual print and p...

Re: [SELL]Blaine Variety Box 1 w/White Lion A red, UV & "pur
I have two of the first VB offered by Blaine - including the only one of the series of 250 with a personalized autograph. There's no purple decks in any of them. The purple decks only came with the "Anything is Possible" bottle made for the White Lions Series A red decks - the purples were...

Re: PRESS RELEASE: 2nd Annual PCF Deck Design Competition
That all depends on the designer and the printer. As I understand it, there were some tweaks to the design that needed to be made, plus Giovanni was very busy with Expert on some other projects he produced/is producing. He's brought EPCC a fair amount of his business, so it doesn't appear that Giova...

PRESS RELEASE - MONDAY, JUNE 14, 2015 PFC AND EPCC ANNOUNCE THE SECOND ANNUAL PCF DECK DESIGN COMPETITION NEW YORK - After what was a very successful first effort, PlayingCardForum.com (PCF) and the Expert Playing Card Company (EPCC) have decided to hold their second annual design competition for pl...

My staff didn't pick any nominees other than by participating in the voting - and as I was running the competition, I refrained from voting or even participating to the point of expressing a personal preference, as much as I would have liked to. No one would have known, but I like to be able to loo...

Hey, folks, This is a great topic you've created. I thought I'd provide a bit more insight as to the Awards and how they were managed. Bringing Up Old Business...Thanks to [Name redacted]
I had a piece of information I thought I'd drop off here. I have no idea how frequently VJose32 checks his Facebook account and he's not just banned at PCF, he's now deleted as well. Why, you ask? Read on... I early November, I posted on my Facebook fan page about the PCF's 100,000th Post Contest. A...

I bet you just came over to show off your gilded deck. :ugdance: Not really, no. I was doing a favor for one of my clients, Uusi - they wanted people to see what a gilded deck is like in real-world conditions, opened, shuffled, played with, etc. They were kind enough to send me one and reques...

Hey, guys, Just wanted to let you know that Peter and Linnea are in the process of producing a video that will go into some detail on the gilding process. In the meantime, I've made a video of an open gilded deck of Pagan dark, after it's been used for about a dozen hours or so. The photos all showe...

Re: Plugged Nickel Playing cards (KS) (wap)
I see designers/artists going with other printers and forcing uspcc to change. I don't see USPCC being "forced" to do anything, I'm sure they could drop the whole custom playing card market completely and still have plenty of business. But I hope there's someone in that company who realiz...

But I do know there is a very logical and sensible reason these NOCs are considered a V3. I'll just say it has a lot to do with USPCC's ever increasing prices. Thanks, Randy You're gonn...

Re: Another sweaty hands post
I think blotting the hands with a very absorbent towel would be better. I'd be concerned about chalk getting all over the cards and adversely affecting them - rubbed into the finish, the chalk dust could ruin the surface. A hand sanitizer gel might help as well. Some have moisturizers (good for the ...

With that picture, yes - that was a fantastic job of highlighting the gold foil and embossing. You can see the surface is three-dimensional in that shot.

Jace - is that "Torpedo" branded deck British, I'm assuming? I've got one in mint condition but I've never known how to attribute it. It came with a "Mohawk" (also mint) deck in a collection or lot as you would say, and I never really bothered to chase it down. Nice Steamboat! I...

Hello, Jeremiah, All in all, this looks like a solid design. My big question would be why are you using USPC as a stretch goal rather than simply sticking with Expert PCC? EPCC makes an exceptionally high-quality deck, one that I would argue is superior to what USPC can create. You know I do consult...

I see what ya'll saying about people wouldn't know the different. On the stripper machines at USPCC, the uncut sheets were faced up. After the sheets are cut into strips, I don't know the process afterwards. They're moved to the cutting dies. The cards are cut individually in separate dies for a cl...

It is nice to have that variety. It's also important for collectors to remember they're not obligated in any way to buy every single different tuck box variant. It's better that you control your hobby rather than the other way around.
BTW: I do like the design.

I think there's an error there regarding the traditional and modern cut used for playing cards. The traditional cut is actually the "face-down" cut. The card sheet is penetrated front to back, creating a beveled edge that's easier to work with in shuffles straight out of the box, will faro...
