Edgy Bros Coloring Book based on 2nd Ed. Dia de los Muertos
Hi to all Cardists out there! We wanted to say first and foremost that we were honored to work with Mike Ratledge on our previous Avant-Garde campaign, and were sorry we couldn't find anything special to do for our Cardists friends as the inventory got sucked up pretty quickly during the campaign. W...

Re: UC2017 Fifth Annual Decks "Avant-garde" by Edgy Brothers
a note on our decision to leave the old pledge tiers up - we actually decided to mark them as sold out because the tier mentions free shipping in the united states and kickstarter does not allow us to change the wording on a pledge tier once it's selected, and we don't want to continue to mislead do...

Re: UC2017 Fifth Annual Decks "Avant-garde" by Edgy Brothers
one last thing - as u.s. backers pull out of the old, flawed early bird tiers that charge for u.s. shipping and move over to the new, corrected early bird tiers to get free shipping, we realize some foreign backers may not pull out and move over since their shipping won't change and they may be conc...

Re: UC2017 Fifth Annual Decks "Avant-garde" by Edgy Brothers
Okay, here's what i did. i shut down every early bird pledge tier, marking them as sold out. i then created a duplicate pledge tier offering the exact same number of decks and set the shipping charge for the united states at $0 and the rest of the world at the regular rate. everyone who has selected...

Re: UC2017 Fifth Annual Decks "Avant-garde" by Edgy Brothers
Yeah, try to get in quick for an early bird and... international shippings done it again! Can't bring myself to pay 50% more for shipping... Anyway, your $100 pledge tier says four decks in a brick, maybe change that unfortunately, that was one of the other little details that got overlooked. kicks...

Re: UC2017 Fifth Annual Decks "Avant-garde" by Edgy Brothers
hey, everybody - my apologies for the oversight on shipping. in kickstarter, you have to choose "united states" and set shipping at $0 and then select "rest of the world" and charge the regular shipping rate in order to ensure u.s. shipping is free. i didn't do that and that has ...

Edgy Brothers Royal House Limited Edition Remaining Decks
Hey, everyone, long time no speak. We promised some of our Backers from the KS campaign that we would make the remaining Limited Edition Rose Decks and Gilded Decks available for purchase online, and as of this minute, they are. As you may recall, we ordered only 1000 of the Rose Decks from USPCC an...

Re: Select aka Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers live o
we just cancelled funding on the select series campaign. we sent an update to our backers explaining the move - we want to be designated as funding cancelled instead of funding unsuccessful - after it became clear that we weren't going to make it. we'd gained all of about $300 over the last two week...

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
Okay, tomorrow we launch Edgy Brothers Select Playing Cards! The new name, as you may or may not know, is a response to a polite request to change it by Primo Toys, which has trademarked it in toys and games. So, we are glad to make this campaign pretty much a new launch instead of a relaunch, since...

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
thanks for the suggestions, everybody! we understand the value that add ons and other limited edition items can add to a campaign in terms of funding total, but we try to avoid those because of the added expense and time spent in fulfillment. we've done a blog post about this in the past - it's easy...

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
hey, everybody, we've pretty much flatlined in our campaign and it doesn't look like the support is there. based on feedback, though most backers like the full bleed deck back, the fact that we are at such a low funding level this deep into the campaign means we're only getting people that love that...

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
after getting feedback from our backers and reaching out to legends playing card company, we decided to switch over and offer the decks as lpcc manufactured and with foil and embossing for the exact same funding goals, $7k and $14k. legends has very competitive pricing and doesn't seem to have the s...

we also want to go ahead and announce our kickstarter launch this tuesday, january 12 at 10AM PST/1PM EST. that gives us a few days before any other big decks come out, and we've put in lots of early bird specials for the backers who pledge quickly. again, thanks to everyone here at UC. you've been ...

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers (wap)
Yup nice compromise. Not as sick but more fiscally possible with a similar look. What do you think are the most important factors that some campaigns are so crazy successful so quickly? Omnia funded crazy fast with a high goal. Diamonds doing nicely too. Hoping you have similar results. thanks, guy...

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
Holy crap that tuck is gorgeous! Could it be a stretch goal upgrade? Or a short run/limited option? if we did the black tuck as a stretch goal, we could only offer 500 of them as a limited edition tuck swap of the red deck and it would cost about $5k to pay for it. same goes for a similar version o...

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
thanks again for the feedback, everyone. we're going to continue tweaking through the weekend as necessary. with card designs we've learned, as in everything, that we won't please everyone. but we still want to hear everyone's thoughts. as we're fond of saying, this is kickstarter, and it's all abou...

Re: Primo playing cards from Edgy Brothers
I've always had a soft spot for full bleed backs. That was an excellend suggestion by JazzVox to go with the silver and blue backs, definitely an improvement over the gold/blue version. I'd like to see a similar evolution of improvement for the tuck box as well. I think the current version of the t...

Re: Edgy Brothers Royal House Playing Cards Relaunch live on
hey guys, just wanted to check in and address the funding goal question. our funding goal for royal house represents a break even point. in the past, we've set our goals too low (without knowing it) and ended up in the red, having to do a lot of wholesale and merch sales to be profitable. in this ca...

Re: Edgy Brothers Royal House Playing Cards Relaunch live on
The problem with these 'only limited pledge levels' campaigns is there's no flexibility - combined with Kickstarter not handling pledging for multiple rewards, this results in us often not getting what we want (unless resorting to multiple accounts), and the campaign receiving less too. For example...

Re: Edgy Brothers Royal House Playing Cards Relaunch live on
we understand the concern with the pledge tiers. we based the tiers on the level of pledges from the first launch, and therefore these were the most flexible tiers we could do. because it's such a limited campaign, there's no other way to run it and at some point we were going to run out of the gild...

Re: Dia de los Muertos Second Edition now live on KS
Just a quick note to say I got my decks. Not thrilled with the packaging. I got a mixed brick plus one deck. It came in a padded envelope and loosely wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap. The decks were essentially in a pile inside the envelope. 5 of the 13 decks had dinged corners. The decks looks gr...
