I think an important aspect is also that they always informed their customers about the situation of shipping and fulfillment and they never tried to hide the fact that they made a mistake. For me this was important even though I didn't have any problems and received my decks pretty quickly. It make...

So, if any of those munich ppl were up for a meeting i'd be totally in. Would love to meet another cardist in real life. Would be a first timer for me and i think exchanging some tips and stuff is sth worth looking forward to^^ no problem. are you on facebook? if so, add me, my name is Julian Stiber.

Re: The Fontaine Fam
Cool moves, but the video is way too long. Too much mucking about in-between the quality stuff made me lose interest not even half-way. I watch cardistry videos to watch cardistry, not a montage of an entourage on vacation. Well, it's more of a jam video than a serious performance video I'd say. Bu...

Zach uploaded this and I have to say it's probably the most insane cardistry video I've ever seen. I think it's something everyone should have seen a few times at least, so I thought I'd share it here.

Re: Printer Comparisons
MISC - EPCC/LPCC boast A LOT about how smoothly the edges of their cards are cut. Compared side by side, they are definitely smoother than the USPCC. My question is, "So what?" Hahah THIS. I still find faro-ing easier with uspcc cards. Its the only thing that the edges affect. True, the s...

I'd say USPCC were the best when they were in Ohio. Now I prefer the feel of EPCC / LPCC Decks to USPCC.

Re: Usagi Playing Cards
I would've liked a bolder, more dynamic design with thinner borders, embellishments in the corners, and a circular design element in the center of the back. This seems more minimal to me than cardistry. About the borders: The actual photographs show a prototype deck which is sadly off centered. The...

Re: Usagi Playing Cards
When the Buck twins stop making failed TV pilots and give up on acting careers, maybe they'll notice their S&M court cards are getting ripped off. . . I wouldn't call it a ripoff. I didn't just copy and paste the Smoke and Mirror Courts onto my Cards (I don't have the files required anyways) bu...

Re: Usagi Playing Cards
Basically, in a good minimal deck, there has to be the one (or two) detail(s) it leans on. A minimal deck without that detail is missing the point of card collecting. I think we all started to collect, because we wanted cards that were in a some way different than the average deck. There we go, tha...

Re: Red Majors Playing cards now live on KS
PROs - the logo itself looks quite nice and I think this is the kind of logo that works with this type of Wynn-esque back designs CONs - while I like the logo I think it's too close to the Wynn logo which is particularly bad in this case since that's the style of back design he chose -> too close to...

Mirror will be all over this one :ugthink: Nope, sorry to break it to you but I don't like these. I like simple decks but only if the design looks good (is that Times New Roman?!). I also rarely like gradents + the deck seems to have a borderless design which doesn't have to be a bad thing but in t...

As someone whose favorite decks are and have always been the Smoke & Mirrors decks, I hope and I'm pretty sure it's fake. It just doesn't look as professional as the rest of the series. I wouldn't mind more S&M decks but only if they were as good as the rest of the seres and (at least in ter...

Re: Striped Playing Cards (soon)
My two cents: this forum is adapting with the times. Cardists 10+ years ago could fan, shuffle and amaze as they pleased with very few options of decks. And by few options I mean compared to today. The burst of custom playing cards has made people more picky about the decks they use and open. Maybe...

Collector vs cardist aside, i dont think these look bad. Would i buy it? Mirror would you buy this ? Painted and lacquered ? I cant imagine a cardist using lacquered cards, maybe a collector would go hey that looks cool, shouldnt the cardist here be screaming WHAT ABOUT THE HANDLING ?!? And coming ...

Re: Striped Playing Cards (soon)
You're right. Cardistry is but a dwindling ember around here. Some of us do very amateur stuff but hardly anything hardcore. And that's heartbreaking to be honest. But it is what it is and it'll probably only get worse. :( Listen Mirror, I really get your point that simple backs are miles better th...

Re: Striped Playing Cards (soon)
I think that the main reason there are not many cardists left here is that this is actually United Cardists v2. It used to have a different web domain and when it changed, not many cardists followed. And the way this forum is now they don't really have a reason to come back. Back to the deck, I prob...

Re: Cardists as collectors - Question and Comments
1- Do you pass on very nice decks because they are not on your preferred stock? I don't see myself as a collector, really, but I have a strong affinity towards design. Of course the quality of a deck is also very important. For me it's important that a deck looks AND handles good. I don't have a pre...
