Re: Aether/Discourse Sold to Tom Dawson

It's all good, dazz. I'm just glad the owners of the two forums aren't mortal enemies anymore  In fact, they're good pals from what I understand. I'll admit I'm enjoying being part of both places now, as bad as Aether's GUI is the forum itself isn't that bad. Maybe now we can be like neighbori...

Re: The "White Whale" Wish List

Wow! I was just going to post my wish to this list, and while trying to find pictures of it... I found it for sale on eBay for less than 10 bucks! Polish cards made in Krakow, sold in a plain paper wrapper. I got two decks of these from a newsstand/kiosk when I was a summer student there in the late...

Re: The Next Chapter for Kings Wild... Bicycle.

Congrats to Jackson! This is great news for him, for USPCC, and for playing card enthusiasts. He's going to set the bar pretty high for other artists. I don't exaggerate when I say he may very well usher in a new era at USPCC, and maybe the mainstream card market as well.

Re: the Bunny with a Toolbelt Multifunctional Card Deck! on

Hey, guys! The more I look at this deck in progress, the more I love it. The photo-of-sculpture approach is very refreshing, and even though it's part of an established brand it stands alone quite nicely. I do have a passing interest in cards as fortune-telling tools, and am pleased to see Hilary's ...

Re: Super Mario Go Fish Playing Cards now live on Kickstarte

Even if Nintendo was okay with turning a blind eye to these, I can't imagine USPCC and its crack legal department would let them go through without a license. Looks like there aren't enough backers anyway.

Re: Bicycle Re-Issues the Classic Rider Back Box

"This deck resembles our Standard Deck in every way but the tuck...." But they show an uncolored joker, unlike the current "Standard" colored one. I'm curious to see what will be in the box. I've picked up a few "Classic/Rider Back" decks with the 807 in the past at the...

Re: Army Men - Filing a report with the FBI - Internet Crime

First, the Kickstarter project was "by Adam Clarkson". If anyone has a beef over the project, that beef is with Adam, not Circle City or Russell. To be sure Circle City's reputation is affected by this, but the deal was with Adam. I'm afraid that comment is not accurate. The main picture ...

Re: Army Men - Filing a report with the FBI - Internet Crime

I'm seeing a lot of conflicting opinion here, and I figured I might as well put my two cents in. I did not contribute to this project, nor am I in any way connected to the designer or anyone at CCC. I do know a little about intellectual property ( a little - this is not legal advice by a long shot!)...

Re: Bicycle 'Federal 52' - LIVE on Kickstarter

Just to update everyone on what I'm thinking about these great cards (and I'm sure everyone does care what I think) I'll repost a comment I made on the KS site: In my last comment I said "I just switched my pledge from an $11 for one deck to $24 for one original and one Gold Cert – plus $66 in ...

- Two-way back design (subtle one-way backs are fine) Maybe I'm demonstrating some ignorance here, but there is a widespread belief that some Islamic art contains deliberate mistakes so the artist won't offend God by attempting perfection. Would a two-way back with a subtle "mistake" in t...

Re: The Mechanical Card Deck by Dale Mathis

Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! I like! A mechanical box or display case is just so cool. As far as the mechanical deck/tuck box, I was thinkin": Maybe Dale could put his head together with some magic-minded people to come up with some kind of illusion that could benefit from his style. I often thought the ...

Hello, all! I'm a new kid on this block. I just wanted to join in on the praise for this deck in progress. Who am I? Why am I here?

Howdy! I'm Bill, and I don't fully understand why I like playing cards. I don't play a lot of card games (except for occasional solitaire), and while I'm somewhat interested in magic, I have no real skill in cardistry or sleight of hand. I started getting hooked when the Bicycle Vintage Design serie...
