Re: Wayfarers Playing Cards by Joker and the Thief

I didn't get the early bird; I passed. I like what I see, for the most part, although I have the same reservations regarding the backs as others have mentioned. But, yeah, a bit pricey. ^Pretty much this. The EB-tiers made them seem affordable, but the non-EB tiers are about 30% more expensive acro...

Re: Red Metallic Gators

Anyone else think the Metalluxe looks pretty bad in the product photo? Looks like it used rusty plates or something...there's like no details to be made out..maybe just the glare?

Re: Peelers V3 Private Reserve

@vasta41 There should be other opportunities to fill the passport, the way I heard it, there will be more than 6 decks releases that include stickers, so you can still get 6 to fill the passport even if you missed out on the Peelers v3. As for the 1500 print run number, I'm not 100% sure as I was on...

A bit overdue, but bought some decks from caniveski and even though international shipping took a while, they arrived in great condition! Would recommend, and thanks again for hooking it up with one of my whales!

So, a follow-up: Mike replied to my message stating that all the No. 17s left might be like this https://i.imgur.com/avXangQ.jpg but that he would check to see if any were in better shape, to which I replied "thanks! would love to see pics and pick up an undamaged one." That was the last I...

UC Deck Sales

Has anyone purchased anything recently from UC Deck Sales? Is it still run by Mike Ratledge? I bought 2 No. 17 Prototypes from the site, took a month to get a shipping label/tracking, and the decks weren't sent out for another month. Figured COVID is a pretty good reason for the delays, so didn't bo...

Re: Aqua Deck- MPC 'Invisible' Deck

Gotta admit, I did laugh a bit at this deck when I first saw it, but yeah I can definitely see it's potential if incorporated into a magic routine. The other thing I think this would be super useful for is teaching magic and cardistry tutorials on youtube. It'd be great for showing finger placement ...

Re: Carvers Deck by OPC & Passport Reward Program

Kinda crazy the pre-sales sold out so quickly, wonder if they still have some for the general release? I agree the tuck box is meh, and only seems to be an accessory to the half brick box. Speaking of which, I kinda wish the top didn't show the melon cut in half and was just an entire outer melon, b...

Another Taiwanese American here, represent. Thanks for speaking up about that @Decknowledgy. We shouldn't be letting China off the hook because it's a global problem, and the world needs clarity if we're to learn from this. Considering current world tensions though, it'd be foolish to think China wo...

Just a heads up to anyone shipping internationally out of the US, all priority mail is untracked and uninsured at the moment, with probability of delays. Re: Sirocco Modern Ed. by Riffle Shuffle / KS LIVE

I actually really like the "blue" tuckcase for the modern version. It's a super dark navy blue, very similar to the blue monarchs in that it's basically black in any lighting condition other than but bright white light. The weathered version is really awesome too with the texture. If Riffl...

Re: Sin City by Riffle Shuffle 03/07

I like it enough to back for a set. It does look like a mashup of some styles, with the Tuck Case design feeling like Art of Play, but with Theory11 foil and embossing, the backs remind me of Kellar O'Neil's Lotrek Charmers (Lotrek Kellar O'Neil Charmers?), and I'm still not a fan of the messaging o...

Re: *OFFICIAL* 2019 'Deck of the Year' Awards

The way I read it i,s that the 72h time window is only for announcing that you're available (that's why an explicit date is mentioned), not that you have 72h to claim a price after you got PMed. Yeah that's how I interpreted it too, but there's no cutoff mentioned for how long to wait in-between pi...

I would agree, but since we didn't do that on the last people, I think we can't change the "rules" on the go. I think giving someone 48 hours to respond is fair  I agree, but a mod has to make the judgement call Next year we should set up a survey of sorts where each winner ranks...

Geez, did we really go an entire weekend with just one person having picked a prize? There's gotta be a more efficient way to do this next year. Probably not the best idea, but just to get the ball rolling - maybe in like groups of 10, and each group gets a day to pick? Have the 48/72hr or whatever ...

Re: 2019 'Deck of the Year' Awards: GIVEAWAY PRIZE DONATIONS

Changing my donation to simply a mixed half brick. Considering the pacing of the prize selection process, adding more options to choose from seems counter-productive. Combined from the 3 options, figured this half brick makes more sense. Congrats to all the winners, totally not salty I didn't win an...

Definitely no dark core in the paper stock, but the foil makes it opaque. By the way, which loose cards did you all get? I got a GoG J, 8, and 5 of Hearts. Curious to see if we'd be able to cobble together a full deck :D

My thing is that I thought the theme of the "Pi" series was circles, not rectangles. I guess the theme is borderless design with simple geometric shapes.

It's probably too early to judge the entire series on what could be the weakest release though, looking forward to the next one.
