Re: Galactic Paradise / KS

The shipping costs are all declared. There is zero mystery. I'm not going to charge insane amounts for shipping later. I've made it clear why I'm charging shipping separately. (To be fair there is a lot of text and I've done what I can to make things clear but any KS is a long scroll! Blah blah stil...

Re: Galactic Paradise / KS

Hi folks, thanks for the kind words and various feedback! The intent is a casino-style deck with a bit of flair. So while it would be fun to go crazy with alien babes et al. it's not the focus, and as I'm not an illustrator, not where my strengths as a designer lie. In any case, we wanted to keep th...

Re: Cactus Playing Cards

Yeah, I am definitely going to look into this for my own projects. Thanks for the insight! :D On topic, The cactus itself is a pleasing design, and I really dig the ace of clubs. But those courts are a big no for me. I don't know if it's a borderline-trypophobic thing for me or that it reminds me of...

Re: Cactus Playing Cards

So this is an obvious pass, but I LOVE the inclusion of a cut card. For those who play poker, cut cards or cover cards are the most obvious/easiest add-on or stretch goal that I feel should be included in just about any campaign. A good quality, long-lasting, plastified card that displays a designe...

Re: Singularity Playing Cards by Relativity

Thanks! Funny enough, the black was the recolor, as far as design timeline. If I'd had the budget, both would have come out at the same time. The white version is the one I want most, and there are at least some others for whom that's the case, too. And then there's people who were weirded out by th...

Re: Singularity Playing Cards by Relativity

Black and orange foils on the Tapestry editions... meant to emphasize one side of the story or the other based on which version it is :)

I'm working with the tuck manufacturer and if I can get a white "foil" (and they do exist!) then the white version will be even better and easier to read

Re: Rogues' Gallery - poorly printed decks!

I was in contact with USPCC today about this for a deck I'm working on and they said that you can't actually pay more to get tighter tolerances... just that if you do thinner borders you have to pay more. They won't guarantee it will be more accurate. They just charge you. Thanks for this ques...

Yeah. I think I've mentioned elsewhere that if you go beyond their recommended border, they charge $.25 per deck to hit higher tolerances. No idea how precise they get at the extra cost though.

Re: Rogues' Gallery - poorly printed decks!

Uncut sheets have partial cuts between each card, presumeably for registration / alignment. It looks like this one was so off that it was cut slightly beyond that registration cut!

Re: Cardists: Remove jokers from the Deck?

I don't pitch them or anything, but when I handle decks I definitely leave the jokers and ad cards / gaffs in the box. It affects the thickness of the deck and it feels off to me. When I'm doing a thumb fan, I'm trying to get as much peek of the cardbacks as possible and extra cards in the deck impe...

Re: Monarch Mandarin Edition

I have seen a lot worse from them. Still sucks though. I don't know enough about printing to know how / why this happens. Is it just something to do with the cutting part of the process being slightly misaligned? Cards come off the press in sheets, one deck per sheet. They are fed into another mach...

I, uh... haven't read that thread. Maybe I'll just stay here with the ghost hugs...

I think what maybe set off a lot of this is that the purple Monarchs came out very recently and this was pretty hot on its heels. We haven't seen new colors of Monarchs drop this fast before, as far as I know.

The thing that caught my attention regarding this project was the location given on Kickstarter - Newark, DE or Delaware in case you didn't know.
