Re: Obsession - Thirdway Industries [KS March 11, 2025]
I think more established creators like TWI or KWP are really never going to benefit from the longer campaigns. So much comes in early, and the last days honestly are going to create more "second guessing" opportunities than it will opportunities for more people to "find" the camp...

Re: Dualism by Thirdway Industries [TWI Patreon]
There's definitely design similarities. "Have one, have em all" is definitely not quite a fair assessment though. The bigger differentiation from one series to the next in my mind becomes thematic and lore based. Mileage will vary on how much any one collector gets into that stuff, but I t...

Agreed completely with Sherman. Tons of benefits with a club membership - not the LEAST of which is access to these decks! It's a great way to contribute to a genuine positive force in the collecting community, and I have to say - the content through Card Culture and Clear the Decks have been fascin...

Was lucky enough to make it to the convention to see the reveal in person this year. First...great time at the convention. But second? This is probably my favorite club deck to date. The tuck wrap, the mixture of antique inspiration with modern styles, etc. Just an incredibly well put together and e...

I think the "random color" thing is a lot of fun - albeit potentially annoying for the completionists in the crowd. I happen to fall in that camp I'm afraid. But it feels a little bit like Unbroken-lite. Shouldn't be intended to be a deck where everyone feels compelled to go after every v...

I'm too lore driven in my deck preferences to be ok with the ronin/clan mismatch. I'll be out primarily for that reason personally.

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
I might add this as well: ARK “claimed” to have been the first ever to make Playing Cards tuckbox made of silky surface paper, but in reality, Lotrek did it first with the Charmers Signature and… iirc, ICONS It was Gio/TWI who said about their first to use velvet-texture stock on Damokles, but Lott...

Re: OATH'S PATREON -details
I know lotrek's doing some weird printing techniques or something, and that's what he's been known for. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this looks like something even WJPC can do without issues. Even Cartamundi could have done it back in their day and these would've been done and dusted already. I lik...

Re: Pixel Cards: A Modern Pixel Playing Card Deck by Loop
Yeah I think kevok is just - rightly - pointing out that this campaign has all the hallmarks not necessarily of a scam, but of a deck that's going to run into plenty of problems and may not be worth the risk for backers. A way-too-low goal for a first time creator is one of the first absolute red fl...

Re: Ankh Playing Cards by ARK Playing Cards
It's a tricky line. I get Baconwise's point and genuinely prefer art that is created by hand. But for decades we have used tools that serve to enhance that work in various ways. We have tools that "vectorize" and image to give crisper lines. Color selection tools that let an artist find th...

Re: Heartless by Thirdway Industries
I'm confused. Are you saying that you don't want to allow people to join after the yearly Hybris reward is revealed? Wouldn't that be more incentive for people to join? I think the sentiment here was that the POINT of big year end rewards was as a thank you to those who have been long time supporte...

Re: Camelot by Tim Olinger
Bit of an own goal going to the never-fulfilled Natalia Silva campaign and cross-posting the new campaign as being 'by the same artist' without underlining that it isn't Natalia Silva. Why you'd even think to associate yourself with the former campaign is beyond me... Did the CREATOR do that? I did...

Re: War of Realms by Curio - KS This Fall
The "less text on the AoS" is definitely the one thing I would change if Jamie appointed me lead designer of the deck. I'm with most of the others here - pretty excited for this one. Love to see creators like Curio succeeding in a market that sometimes seems SO dominated by a handful of (a...

Re: Strawberry Pi by Kings Wild Project [23 August]
I really wish the pi series had kept the circular elements more clearly. Starting with Chocolate Pi, a lot of that got lost, and I think the cleverness of the theme playing off the mathematical part unfortunately (mostly) went away. Original and Plum absolutely did it best in my book. That said...gl...

I think there's this presumption that MPC is a weak product - and I just don't think that's necessarily true. Their quality runs the gamut - so while they have some cheaply made stuff (and it shows), they can also produce stuff that in my opinion is on par with anyone save USPCC and Cartamundi in te...

Re: ASGARD WORLD ( Vikings Saga Heroes ) Playing Cards.
This really misses on "Viking" to me. It comes across as more Victorian than anything - especially with that powder blue color on the back design. And the courts just don't do enough at all. They're...empty. Larger faces, more pops of color, etc...just needs a lot more to feel complete. Th...

I see what you mean...and ultimately I'm more than happy to keep the blame squarely where it belongs in the bigger picture. But it seems like a slippery slope for companies to open up about transactions with parties that they don't contract with. Just seems like a privacy breach. Ironically, I would...

Re: Horsemen - Kickstarter 1st June
While it would in no way excuse the creator's actions...seems highly unprofessional for Cartamundi to answer random email questions about a customer's account/order status. That clearly seems like info that should only be shared with people directly tied to a project.
